Nicolas Vaughan Travis, known as (Nicky Travis), is an English football coach and former professional player, born on 12 March 1987 in Sheffield, England. He is recognized for his contributions to Sheffield United and his international playing experience in Australia and Italy.
Playing Career
Travis began his football journey at Sheffield United's youth academy. In August 2007, he was loaned to Chesterfield FC for six months. However, his loan was cut short due to knee and ankle injuries, limiting his appearances to two matches. In May 2009, with his contract at Sheffield United expiring, Travis joined Australian A-League side Central Coast Mariners on a free transfer. During his tenure, he made 20 appearances and scored three goals. Subsequently, he moved to Italy, playing for A.S.D. Siracusa, where he accumulated 38 appearances .
Coaching Career
After retiring from professional football in 2018, Travis transitioned into coaching. He obtained his UEFA Pro Licence and began his coaching career at Sheffield United. In the 2019–2020 season, he served as the fitness coach under Chris Wilder, continuing in the role during the 2020–2021 season under both Wilder and Paul Heckingbottom .
In July 2021, Travis was appointed assistant manager to Slaviša Jokanović at Sheffield United. However, his tenure was brief, lasting until November 2021 .
Coaching in Spain
Travis's coaching journey also took him to Spain, where he was involved with Málaga CF's youth setup. He worked with the Málaga B team, known as Atlético Malagueño, during the 2022–2023 season, as a headcoach.

Born and raised in Sheffield, Travis has remained connected to his roots throughout his football career. His experiences both in England, Italy and Spain have enriched his understanding of the game, influencing his coaching philosophy.
Born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Travis was signed by Chesterfield on loan in August 2007 until 31 December. [1] He returned to Sheffield United in October, after suffering knee and ankle injuries. [2]
In May 2009, with his contract about to expire, he agreed a free transfer to Australian A-League side Central Coast Mariners following a successful trial.
