Nicolas Pinto is a former Canadian soccer player who had stints in the USL A-League and the Canadian Professional Soccer League.
Pinto began his professional career in 2000, with the Montreal Impact in the USL A-League. He was one of the several new signings conducted by new Montreal head coach Zoran Jankovic. [1] During his tenure with Montreal he mostly served as a backup goalkeeper, and appeared in two matches. On May 16, 2001 he was signed by newly expansion franchise Montreal Dynamites of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. [2] He helped Montreal finish fourth in the overall standings, thus qualifying for the playoffs. In the playoffs the Dynamites faced St. Catharines Wolves, but were defeated by a score of 2-1. Pinto returned to the organization for the 2002 season. [3] Montreal would finish second in the Eastern Conference and secure a postseason berth. The club was eliminated early on in a wildcard match against the Metro Lions in a 3-1 defeat.
In 2004, the Dynamites took a sabbatical for the 2004 season, which resulted in Pinto re-signing with the organization for the 2005 season. The Laval franchise finished third in the Eastern Conference, and reached the quarterfinals.
Brampton Stallions were a Canadian soccer team, founded in 2001 as the Brampton Hitmen before changing its name in 2005. The team was a member of the Canadian Soccer League and played in the National Division. The team went "dormant" in 2006.
Abraham François is a Canadian retired footballer. He competed in the 1997 Canada Games with Quebec, winning the competition. He was then selected to represent Canada at the Francophonie Games in Madagascar, also winning the competition. His career spanned from 1998 to 2016.
Marco Reda is a Canadian former soccer player who began his professional career in the USL A-League with the Toronto Lynx where he developed his skills as a solid defender. This led to his transfer to Europe to sign with Sogndal, where he would eventually have a tenure in Scandinavia for six years. Reda would return to Toronto, this time to sign with expansion franchise Toronto FC, and would conclude his career in the USL First Division. He also played at the indoor level in the National Professional Soccer League with the Toronto ThunderHawks in 2000–2001.
Laval Dynamites were a Canadian soccer team, founded in 1997. The men's team was a member of the Canadian Professional Soccer League/Canadian Soccer League, the highest professional soccer league in Canada, and played in the National Division. The team played as the Montreal Dynamites in 2001 and 2002. The team essentially moved to Trois-Rivières and became the Trois-Rivières Attak for the 2007 season.
