The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) was established with the aim of promoting bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. It has gained international affiliation with the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC). [1] [2] The Chamber comprises members from various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Activities

The NBCC's engagements include: incoming and outgoing trade missions between the two countries. Apart from that, it includes organizing trainings, workshops, conferences and seminars that are conducted by top authorities from various fields.

The NBCC creates a good platform for its members and non-members by adding value to its stakeholders. It also improves membership benefits by encouraging business relationships. [3] It focuses on improved association through discussion on topical issues confronting the economy; particularly Nigerian-British trade amongst members. [4]

The NBCC allows its members to access a network of 53 Chambers of Commerce across the United Kingdom and 49 other international affiliates around the world.

The NBCC has been involved in fostering bilateral trade and discussions between the Nigerian and United Kingdom businesses. [5]

The organization is also involved in spreading information on government policies to its stakeholders, and encourage networking amongst NBCC members and improving the membership experience. [6] [7]

The board or council then hires a President, CEO, or Executive Director, plus staffing appropriate to size, to run the organization.

The National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) was incorporated as The National Black Chamber of Commerce, Inc., in 1993. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization dedicated to the economic empowerment of African American communities. Additionally, the organization indicates that it represents the views of its members regarding economic and political policy issues; domestically and internationally. It is organized as a 501(c) corporation and has at least 190 chapters within the United States. The NBCC also has international chapters in the Bahamas, Brazil, Colombia, Ghana and Jamaica. As with all Chambers of Commerce, affiliate branches are committed to carrying out the goals of the main Chamber within their areas.

In June 1989, as Poland turned away from communism, a group of British-Polish students and graduates, Polish expats and British businessmen, established ‘Interes’, an organisation promoting business, trade and investment between Britain and Poland.

Joel Danlami Ikenya is a Nigerian politician who was elected to represent the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as Senator for Taraba South in Taraba State in 2007. He was reelected in 2007, then in 2011 made an unsuccessful bid for governor of the state. Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya was nominated as a ministerial nominee to replace Darius Ishaku who resigned to contest the Governorship election in Taraba State. In January, he was appointed the Minister of Labour and Productivity till May 2015.

Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit and non-governmental organization. The chamber was the first to pioneer bilateral chamber of commerce in Nigeria. It was created in 1960 to foster bilateral relations between United States and Nigeria, with offices in Nigeria, Texas and Atlanta. According to the Guardian report, Nigeria has become the largest trading partners in sub-Saharan Africa.
