Nikita Bier is an American entrepreneur. He has co-founded the apps Tbh and Gas.

Biography

Nikita Bier went to University of California, Berkeley. [1] During his time at Berkeley, he designed an app called Politify to analyze presidential policies. [2]

In 2017, Nikita Bier was one of the co-founders of the app tbh, an anonymous app designed for teenagers, made for compliments. [3] After the app was acquired and later shut down by Meta Platforms, Bier continued to work for Meta. [4]

In 2022, Bier launched the app Gas, a similar app to tbh that also focused on anonymous compliments. The app managed to reach #1 on the App Store and was later acquired by Discord [5]

in 2025, Bier created the app Explode, which allowed users to create temporary messages and photos in IMessage. [6]

In 2022, Nikita Bier expressed interest in becoming head of product of Twitter. [7] On July 1st, 2025, he joined Twitter (now renamed X) as Head of product. [8]
