Nikita Hains (born 2 November 2000) [1] is an Australian diver who competes in the 10m individual events, as well as the 10m synchronised. [2]
Hains was born in Perth, Western Australia. [3] She started out as a gymnast in her hometown of Perth at age 3. She transitioned from gymnastics into the sport of diving at age 13 and made her international debut just two years later. [4]
Hains previously trained as a member of the Western Australian Institute of Sport. She was nominated for WAIS Junior Athlete of the Year in 2016, which was won by Tamsin Cook. [5] [6] [7]
Early success prompted her to move to Adelaide to train at the National Training Centre in 2019 under coach Rick Schavone where she joined the South Australian Sports Institute. [4] She was awarded a Tier 2 Scholarship within the 2022 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program. She is currently enrolled at the University of Adelaide pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree. [4] [8]
Hains focusses primarily on the 10m platform individual and synchronised disciplines. She has won more than 10 international medals between 2016 and 2020, as well as national titles in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022. [4] [8]
Hains, first senior international competition was in 2016 where she competed at the 2016 FINA Diving Grand Prix 2016, Leg 8 in Singapore. She won bronze in the women's 10 metre platform behind Japan's Nana Sasaki and Matsuri Arai. [9] In the women's 10m synchronised session, she won silver alongside Tamara Irvine. [10]
In August 2018, despite qualifying for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics slated for November, Hains withdrew from the competition to focus on her Western Australian Certificate of Education exams. [11]
In November 2019, Hains placed third and earned a bronze medal in the 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix 2019 - Leg 7 in Gold Coast, Australia. In December 2019, during the 2019 Oceania Championships, New Zealand, she won gold in the 10m individual platform. [12] She dominated the competition with a score of 286.1 points n the preliminary round before producing 270.7 points in the final to take the title ahead of New Zealand duo Mikali Dawson and Alyssa Bond. With the gold medal she earned Australia an Olympic quota in the women's 10m platform at the Tokyo Olympic Games. [13]
In July 2019, Hains competed at the 30th Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy. [14]
Due to COVID-19 the Australian team withdrew from the qualification event for Tokyo Olympics games and therefore could not qualify for any synchronised event, which prevented Nikita from competing in the 10m platform synchronised event. [15] [16]
Hains won silver in the individual platform and bronze in the 10m platform synchronised event at the 2020 FINA Diving Grand Prix, Madrid Spain. [17] The results propelled for the Aussies Olympic Trial where a personal best earned her selection for the Tokyo Olympic Games. At Tokyo Olympics she placed 21st in the 10m Platform. [15] [18]
In June 2022, Hains won gold in the 10m women's platform and silver in 10m platform synchronised in the Australian Diving Championships to secure a spot at the 2022 FINA World Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games, her debut games. [19] [20] [21] The following week, Hains won bronze in the women's 10m synchronized at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Calgary, Canada competing along with Emily Boyd. [22]
Hains aspires to become a doctor after completing her Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Adelaide. [4] [8]
Loudy Wiggins is a former Australian diver. She was born in Haifa, Israel, to Palestinian parents and moved to Australia when she was 3 years old.
Noemi Batki is a Hungarian-born Italian former diver. She was a member of the Italian National Diving Team at four Olympic Games and was a member of the sports section of the Italian Army, Centro Sportivo Esercito, and Triestina Nuoto.

Tonia Couch is a former British Olympic diver.
Rachel Bugg is an Australian diver. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 10m women's synchronised platform diving event with Loudy Wiggins.
Anabelle "Belle" Smith is an Australian diver. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games champion in the 3 metre synchronized springboard. She competed in the 3 m springboard synchronized event at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. She won a bronze medal in 2016, and was placed fifth in 2012.
Cheong Jun Hoong is a retired Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, she became Malaysia's first diving world champion after winning the 10m platform event.
Daniel Goodfellow is a British diver, two-time Commonwealth champion and Olympic bronze medalist. He first represented Great Britain as a senior at the 2013 European Diving Championships in the 10 m platform event and the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in the same event. Goodfellow won a bronze medal in the Men's 10m Synchronised Platform event with his diving partner Tom Daley at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He has also won a gold with Daley in the same event at the Commonwealth Games, and a silver at the European Championships. In 2022 he won his first major title as a solo diver, winning gold in the men's 3 metre springboard at the 2022 Commonwealth Games
The diving competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo featured eight events. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and synchronised swimming.
Chen Aisen is a Chinese diver. He is a double gold medal winner at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He won gold in the men's synchronised 10m platform competition with diving partner Lin Yue, as well as gold in the men's individual 10m platform. He has also won golds in the World Championships partnered with Yang Hao and Cao Yuan.
Matthew Lee is a British diver and Olympic gold medallist. Adept in both individual and synchronised diving, and across both 3-metre springboard and platform, Lee won the gold medal in 10-metre platform at the 2015 European Games, the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform at the 2017 European Diving Championships and has twice been European junior champion on the 3-metre springboard. At world level, Lee won the silver medal in the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform event at the 2017 World Championships, and at the 2019 World Championships, Lee and Tom Daley won bronze in the 10 m synchro event, as well as gold in July 2021 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Lois Mae Toulson is a British diver. A specialist in the 10 metre platform, she won the gold medal at the inaugural European Games in 2015, and the senior European title in 2017. She competed in the women's synchronized ten metre platform event at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Tonia Couch. She won silver in mixed 10m platform synchro at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships with Matty Lee, and gold in the women's synchronized 10 metre platform at the 2018 European Aquatics Championships with Eden Cheng.
Zhang Jiaqi is a Chinese diver. She won the gold medals of women's 10m platform and women's 10m synchronised platform in the 2018 FINA Diving World Cup.
Eden Cheng is an English elite diver representing Great Britain and England. She won her first major medal in 2018 at the age of 15, when she won the gold medal at the European Championships in the 10 metre platform synchro with Lois Toulson.
Noah Oliver Williams is an English diver who represents Great Britain and specialises in the 10 metre platform event. He has won silver medals in the 10 metre synchro platform with Matthew Dixon at the European Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is a British professional diver. In her breakthrough year of 2022, she became a World junior, two-time European senior, two-time Commonwealth Games and two-time national senior champion across 10 metre platform and 10 metre synchronised platform events, as well as a World senior medallist in the team event.
Cassiel Emmanuel Rousseau is an Australian diver. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 10 metre platform. Rousseau claimed gold in the men's 10m platform World Championships event in Fukuoka 2023, creating history for the Australian diving team by becoming the first Australian men's 10m platform world champion.
Kyle Kothari is an English diver representing Great Britain and England in competition. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal in the 10 metre mixed synchronised platform, and placed fourth in the 10 metre synchronised platform. Emily Boyd is an Australian diver who competes in the 3m and 10m individual events, as well as the 10m synchronised. She is a commonwealth bronze medallist in the mixed synchronised 10 m platform competing alongside Cassiel Rousseau.
