Nilesh Sahay (born October 20, 1982) is an Indian actor, filmmaker, director and writer. He is the nephew of actor Sanjay Dutt.

Life and career

Sahay is the son of the actress Zaheeda. His great-grandmother Jaddan Bai was the country's first female film producer and music composer. His grandfather Akhtar Hussain was an actor, producer, director and writer and his grandaunt and uncle Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt were also actors. Sahay is the nephew of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Sahay made his film debut in Ganesh Acharaya's 2011 film Angel . [2] He later turned filmmaker and started filming Squad , his directorial debut, in September 2019 at Belarusfilm studios in Minsk. [3]

Sahay is currently working as director in the upcoming production, Ambush, starring Harshvardhan Rane. [4] [5] Nilesh sahay belongs to Indian landlord family. His great grandfather Shyan Nandan Sahay was an Indian landlord, educationist, legislator and the founder vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University Muzaffarpur. Born in the Indian state of Bihar, he also served as the vice chancellor of Patna University.

He was a member of the 1st Lok Sabha, elected from Muzaffarpur Central constituency on Indian National Congress candidature. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1957, for his contributions to education. A road in Muzaffarpur is named after him. Sanam Teri Kasam is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Radhika Rao-Vinay Sapru. Produced by Deepak Mukut, the film stars Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane in their Hindi film debut, with Anurag Sinha, Manish Chaudhari, Murli Sharma and Sudesh Berry. The film is a modern rendition of the legends of Shiva-Sati and the novel Love Story by Eric Segal.

Balmohan Vidyamandir was founded on 3 June 1940 by Late Shri. S.D.Rege alias "Dada" as he was fondly known amongst his students, parents and the community, was a teacher par excellence. Shyam Nandan Sahay CIE was an Indian landlord, educationist, legislator and the founder vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. Born in the Indian state of Bihar, he also served as the vice chancellor of Patna University. He was a member of the 1st Lok Sabha, elected from Muzaffarpur Central constituency on Indian National Congress candidature. He won from Muzaffarpur again in 1957 but died in the same year. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1957, for his contributions to education. A road in Muzaffarpur is named after him.

Dukhan Ram (1899–1990) was an Indian ophthalmologist, academic, legislator and the vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. He was the principal of Patna Medical College, one of the oldest medical colleges in India, and the president of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, a satellite organization of Arya Samaj, founded by Dayanand Saraswati. He successfully contested the 1962 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram constituency, on Indian National Congress candidature and served as the president of All India Ophthalmological Society in 1961. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1962, for his contributions to medical science.

Raja Radhika Raman Prasad Sinha (1890-1971) was a Bihari zamindar, prominent writer of Hindi literature, as well as a Padma Bhushan awardee. Born into a royal family in the district of Shahabad, in the Indian state of Bihar on 10 September, 1890 as the eldest son of Raja Rajrajeshwari Sinha, he was the pioneer of Hindi fiction and authored several books including The Gandhi Cap and Other Short Stories, Purush Nari, and Purva Aur Paschim. When he was 12 years old, his father died in 1903 and his entire estate came under the control of the Court of Wards. He was a friend of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna and gave him Rs. 2000 for business purposes in the late 1940s. Squad is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written, directed and produced by Nilesh Sahay. It is also produced by Brajesh Sahaya, Mohan gopinath, and Zee Cinema. Shobha Nihalani co-wrote the screenplay along with Nilesh Sahay. Rinzing Denzongpa, Pooja Batra and Malvika Raaj in lead roles. The film premiered on ZEE5 on 12 November 2021.
