Niranjan Sudhindra (born 20 August 1996) is an Indian actor who works in Kannada films. He made his debut as a child actor in Bellary Naga (2009).

Early life

Niranjan Sudhindra was born to Sudhindra Kumar B.M. and Veena S.K. He is the nephew of ‘Real Star’ Upendra and Priyanka Upendra. He has a younger sibling Nidarshan Sudhindra. [1]

Niranjan Sudhindra grew up in Bangalore and graduated in Business Administration from PES University. [2] As a student he was drawn to acting and western dance. He acted in many plays and was part of a theatre troupe Thaksh theatrics. He also took part in dance competitions held in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. [3]

Career

In 2018, Niranjan began his adult acting career with 2nd Half, a crime thriller directed by Yogi Devagange. The film also stars his aunt Priyanka Upendra and Niranjan plays a prominent role.

Niranjan's debut film as a lead was Namma Hudugaru (released 8 July 2022), directed by H.B. Siddu, and he played the lead role opposite Radhya. [4] A romantic drama set in a village, the movie evoked mixed reviews among the critics. However, Niranjan’s individual performance as Barma, a happy-go-lucky college student, was appreciated. [5]

Niranjan's next feature film Superstar was directed by Ramesh Venkatesh Babu, and he plays the role of a dancer who becomes a household name. He is paired with social media sensation Zaara Yesmin, who is making her debut in Kannada. [6] This film has improvised the title of his uncle Upendra’s 2002 hit Super Star, and is said to be a commercial entertainer with lots of song and dance numbers. [7] Raghavendra V is the music director and Chethan Kumar has penned the lyrics. [8] KGF star Yash will be doing voiceover for the film teaser. [9] Niranjan’s upcoming projects include Hunter: On Duty, directed by Vinay Krishna. He will be the lead actor and paired with Sowmya Menon. Hunter will be PAN Indian release across five languages - Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. [10] [11] He has also signed a movie Q, a multi-lingual action thriller, directed by Nagashekar. [12]

Puneeth Rajkumar, colloquially known as Appu, was an Indian actor, philanthropist, playback singer, television presenter and producer, who worked in Kannada cinema. He was the youngest son of actor and matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar. He was one of the most popular actors in Kannada cinema. He appeared as a lead in 32 films. As a child, he appeared in many films. His performances as a child actor in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha (1983), Yarivanu (1984) and Bettada Hoovu (1985) were praised. He was conferred with the Doctorate by Mysuru University. The Karnataka Government conferred the state's highest civilian award, Karnataka Ratna, to Puneeth Rajkumar on 1 November 2022, posthumously.

The cinematography is by R K Shivakumar and music direction is handled by Chetan Sosca.

Devaki is a 2019 Indian Kannada-language crime thriller film written and directed by H. Lohith and produced by Akshay C.S. and Ravish R.C. The film was produced under RCS Banner. It stars Priyanka Upendra and Kishore along with Aishwarya Upendra. The supporting cast includes Bollywood actor Sanjeev Jaiswal known for his role in the film – The Attacks of 26/11. The score is by Nobin Paul, and the cinematography is by H.C. Venu. The film was edited by Ravichandran. The film marks the first appearance of Aishwarya Upendra, opposite her mother.
