Dr Nirmala Visweswara Rao (born 29 May 1969) is a classical dancer in kuchipudi and Bharathanatyam. [1]
She was born to the Kamana Ramchandar Rao and Seetha Maha Lakshmi. She started learning dance at the age of 10 years from his Guru Chinta Rammurthy married Kadimi visweswara Rao in April 1988. With the encouragement of his husband she completed her Degree, M.A and MPhil in Dance. She learned from Pasupathi Rama linga satry Garu and continued her career. She started an institute Nirmala Nrutya Nikethan in the year 1998.

She has multiple qualifications which include a B.A. from (Andhra University), Certificate Course in Dance from (Telugu University), MPA in dance from (Central University), M.Phil. from PS Telugu University, Hyderabad and a Ph.D. in fine arts (Kuchipudi & Garaga Nrutyam)from P.S. Telugu University, Hyderabad, India (2011).
Her child performances (from her 8th year of school and onwards) established the commencement of her career. These included; Pushpanjali, Manduka Shabdam and Ramapattabishekam. At the age of 13 she won a gold medal, for a performing competition and in 1994 she finally emerged as a professional.
Since then Nirmala has had the opportunity to perform at a variety of different platforms including;
Some cities she has performed in include; Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Orissa (Konark Festival), Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Tirupathi, Kadapa, Nellore, Bhadrachalam, Gadwal, Pune and Bhuvaneswar.

Nirmala has performed internationally in; Poland, Turkey, Balgeria, Austria, Sri Lanka, Malahsia, Singapore, Mauritius, Doha Qatar, Muscut, Dubai and Bahrain.

Kuchipudi is one of the eight major Indian classical dances. It originates from a village named Kuchipudi in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Kuchipudi is a dance-drama performance, with its roots in the ancient Hindu Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra. Kalyanam Raghuramaiah (1901–1975), popularly known as Eelapata Raghuramaiah, was an Indian actor, and thespian known for his works in Telugu cinema, and Telugu theatre. A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, and the Padmashri, He was known for the roles of Krishna or Dushyantha, Bhavanisankar, Narada etc. He performed those roles for about 60 years. He indulged in elaborate raga alapana, based on different ragas while rendering padyams.

Raja and Radha Reddy are an Indian Kuchipudi dancing couple, gurus and choreographers. They are renowned as exponents of the South Indian dance form of Kuchipudi. They founded and run the Natya Tarangini Institute of Kuchipudi Dance in New Delhi. The duo are credited with having given Kuchipudi a new dimension without compromising on its traditional virtues. For their services to the field of arts, the Government of India has conferred on them the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.

Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma (1935–2012), popularly known as Satyam, was an Indian classical dancer and choreographer, considered by many as one of the leading exponents of the classical dance form of Kuchipudi. He was known for his portrayal of female characters such as Usha, Satyabhama, Deva Devi, Mohini, Sasirekha and Gollabhama (Gollakalapam). He was a recipient of several honors including Kalidas Samman, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 1970, for his contributions to Dance.
Ananda Shankar Jayant is an Indian classical dancer, choreographer, scholar and bureaucrat, known for her proficiency in the classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. She is the first woman officer in the Indian Railway Traffic Service on South Central Railway and her 2009 TED talk is ranked among the top twelve Incredible TED talks on cancer. She is a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Kalaimamani Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu and Kala Ratna Award of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for her contributions to arts.
Gaddam Padmaja Reddy is an Indian Kuchipudi exponent and music teacher. She performs ballets on mythological themes and contemporary social issues. She choreographed Kakatiyam, a Kuchipudi visual dance form. She was conferred with Kala Ratna in 2006, India's highest art award–Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2015 and Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in the field of art for 2022.
Maddali Usha Gayatri is an Indian Kuchipudi exponent, danseuse, guru and choreographer from the state of Andhra Pradesh. A recipient of Hamsa Award, she received critical acclaim for her choreography and performances. She performs ballets in mythological, historical and social themes. One of her works, Nrityam Darsayami, included a troupe of 12 of her disciples performing for 12 hours uninterruptedly.
Mahakavi Dasu Sriramulu (1846–1908) was an Indian scholar, poet, orator, author, astrologer, avadhani, translator, and social reformer. He was a lawyer by profession. He was a child prodigy. He had no formal tutelage in these diverse arts – his knowledge was gained through his personal studies and association with scholars and artists.
