Nishan Dhanasinghe (born 16 August 1966) is a Sri Lankan former first-class cricketer who played for Singha Sports Club. [1]

During a routine training mission in August 1971, Minhas attempted to gain control of his jet trainer when his superior officer Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman hijacked the plane in an attempt to defect to India to join the Bangladesh Liberation War but crashed near the Thatta District, Sindh in Pakistan.

Havaldar Lalak Jan was a Pakistani soldier belonging to the Northern Light Infantry regiment of the Pakistan Army. He is known for being the last recipient of Pakistan's highest military award, the Nishan-e-Haider, for his gallantry and actions of valor during the Kargil War, where he was killed in action. Lalak Jan hailed from the Yasin Valley, from the village of Hundur, in Gilgit-Baltistan which is a province of Pakistan.

The Nishan-e-Imtiaz is one of the state organized civil decorations of Pakistan. It is awarded for achievements towards world recognition for Pakistan or outstanding service for the country. However, the award is not limited to citizens of Pakistan and, while it is a civilian award, it can also be awarded to military personnel and worn on the uniform. Nishan, translating as decoration/order/mark, is a highly restricted and prestigious award, roughly equivalent to Presidential Medal of Freedom and Order of the British Empire, and is the first category award of Order of Imtiaz.
