"No Presents for Christmas" is a single by King Diamond released on December 25, 1985. It was the first music released by King Diamond's new band, after the breakup of Mercyful Fate. It is one of the band's most well-known songs.

King Diamond are a Danish heavy metal band formed in 1985 by vocalist King Diamond, guitarists Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner, bassist Timi Hansen and drummer Mikkey Dee. Diamond, Denner and Hansen had recently departed the group Mercyful Fate, and decided to form a new band under the King Diamond moniker, as it was already known from the Mercyful Fate days. In 1986, King Diamond released their debut album Fatal Portrait. Since then the band have released a total of twelve studio albums, two live albums, two extended plays, five compilations and five singles.

Mercyful Fate Danish heavy metal band

Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, with lyrics dealing with Satan and the occult, Mercyful Fate were part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s. Many of the bands from this movement went on to influence later black metal musicians in the 1990s, particularly in Norway. Since the band's inception in 1981, Mercyful Fate have released seven studio albums, two extended plays and four compilations.

Fatal Portrait is the debut album by the heavy metal band King Diamond. The album was released in 1986 on Roadrunner Records. It is the only King Diamond album to date in which guitarist Andy LaRocque does not receive writing credits. Fatal Portrait was produced by Rune Hoyer. Along with The Spider's Lullabye, this is one of the band's only albums which is not a whole concept album. This album has sold over 100,000 copies in North America alone. The title of the album comes from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Wilde describes the painting as “the fatal portrait” several times throughout the novel.

Mikkey Dee Swedish musician

Micael Kiriakos Delaoglou, known by his stage name Mikkey Dee, is a Greek-Swedish rock musician. He is best known as the drummer for the British rock band Motörhead from 1992 until the band disbanded in December 2015, due to the death of founder and frontman Lemmy. Dee is currently the drummer for the German rock band Scorpions with whom he became a permanent band member on September 2016.

Michael Denner is a Danish heavy-metal guitarist. He is part of the heavy metal duo Denner/Shermann with Hank Shermann.

Andy LaRocque Swedish guitarist

Andy LaRocque is best known as a guitarist, songwriter, and occasional synth player for the band King Diamond.

Brats were a Danish (Copenhagen) band formed in 1977 as a punk rock band. Original line-up featured Hank Shermann on guitar, vocalist Franz De Zaster, drummer Eddie Haircut and bassist Mickey Rat. After recording songs for Danish Pære Punk compilation, the band split up in 1979, not much later reforming as a heavy metal band with new members. The band would not return to a primarily occult/Satanic lyrical approach until the band's final album, 9, released in 1999.
