The discography of King Diamond, a Danish heavy metal band, consists of twelve studio releases, three live albums, five compilations, six singles, and four music videos. King Diamond was formed in 1985, after the dissolution of the group Mercyful Fate, by vocalist King Diamond, guitarists Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner, bassist Timi Hansen, and drummer Mikkey Dee. The following year, the band released their debut album Fatal Portrait on 14 March 1986 which charted at number 33 in Sweden. [1] King Diamond's second studio album, Abigail , was released on 15 June 1987 and reached number 123 in the US, [2] number 39 in Sweden [1] and number 68 in the Netherlands. [3] Following some line-up changes, the group released the album "Them" on 20 June 1988, which peaked at number 38 in Sweden, [1] number 65 in the Netherlands, [3] and at number 89 in the US, [2] making "Them" King Diamond's highest-charting album in North America. [2] The following year, the band released the follow-up album Conspiracy , which charted at number 111 in North America, [2] number 41 in Sweden [1] and at number 64 in the Netherlands. [3] In 1990, after more line-up changes, King Diamond released the album The Eye , which only charted at number 179 in the US, [2] which makes The Eye King Diamond's lowest-charting album in North America. After Mercyful Fate was reformed in 1993, King Diamond remained inactive until 1995, when the band released the album The Spider's Lullabye with the line-up of King Diamond, Andy LaRocque, guitarist Herb Simonsen, bassist Chris Estes and drummer Darrin Anthony. The album went on to reach number 31 in Finland. [4] The Spider's Lullabye was followed by The Graveyard (number 23 in Finland) [4] and Voodoo (number 27 in Finland, number 55 in the Netherlands) [3] [4] in 1996 and 1998 respectively. In 2000, King Diamond released the album House of God , which peaked at number 60 in Sweden. [1] After the release of 2002's Abigail II: The Revenge , which peaked at number 42 in Sweden [1] and at number 24 in Finland, [4] King Diamond's line-up has remained stable to this day, consisting of King Diamond, Andy LaRocque, bassist Hal Patino, guitarist Mike Wead and drummer Matt Thompson. In 2003, the band released The Puppet Master , which reached number 36 in Sweden. [1] In 2007, King Diamond released their 12th studio album Give Me Your Soul...Please , which peaked at 174 in the US, [2] number 28 in Sweden [1] and at number 25 in Finland. [4]

Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, and with lyrics dealing with Satanism and the occult, Mercyful Fate was part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s, along with Venom and Bathory. Many of the bands from this movement went on to influence later black metal musicians in the 1990s, particularly in Norway. Mercyful Fate has also been cited as a prominent influence on the subsequent heavy metal scene of 1980s and 1990s, including thrash metal bands like Metallica, Slayer, Testament, Exodus and Kreator, and death metal bands such as Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary and Cannibal Corpse.
Kim Bendix Petersen, better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish rock musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and wide-ranging countertenor singing voice, in particular his far-reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. He also plays keyboards and guitars on studio recordings but uses live shows to focus solely on his vocal performance. Diamond is renowned for his dark lyrical content and his story concepts. He is also known for his distinctive shock stage persona. He has been an influence for other rock and metal artists, including Metallica, Slayer and Cradle of Filth.

BulletBoys is an American hard rock/glam metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1986. The group's original lineup was composed of singer Marq Torien, guitarist Mick Sweda, bassist Lonnie Vencent, and drummer Jimmy D'Anda. Snowy Shaw is a Swedish heavy metal musician based in the port city of Gothenburg in the west coast of Sweden. He has played with many heavy metal bands, like King Diamond, Dream Evil, Mercyful Fate, IllWill, Notre Dame and Memento Mori. Snowy is adept at playing guitar as well as drums. He is a primary songwriter in Dream Evil. In October 2006, Snowy joined the symphonic metal band Therion, singing on the Gothic Kabbalah album and participated in the 2007 tour together with already established singer Mats Levén. In August 2010, he was announced as the new bassist and clean vocalist of symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, although he was only officially a member for one day then quit and rejoined Therion.

After he was fired from Metallica in 1983, guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine formed Megadeth along with bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Greg Handevidt, and drummer Richard Girod. After some initial lineup changes during 1984, Megadeth's lineup was cemented, consisting of guitarist Dave Mustaine, bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Chris Poland, and drummer Gar Samuelson. The band toured and gained a following, signing with the independent label Combat Records in late 1984. Megadeth's debut album Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! (1985), sold very well for an independent release, and the group attracted the attention of major record labels. By the end of the year, the group signed with Capitol Records. With this line-up, the group released their debut album, Melissa, on 30 October 1983 through Roadrunner Records. The following year, Mercyful Fate recorded their second album Don't Break the Oath. Released on 7 September 1984, the album debuted at number 33 on the Swedish Sverigetopplistan charts. Despite winning a cult following around the world, with sales in the thousands, Mercyful Fate broke up in April 1985, due to musical differences.
Give Me Your Soul...Please is the twelfth studio album by Danish heavy metal band King Diamond, released on 26 June 2007. The album's concept and cover art are both based on a painting titled "My Mother's Eyes". The black cat featured in the album is based on King's own cat, Magic. This was the last album to feature bassist Hal Patino, who was fired from the band in 2014.
