Noah Beresin is an American music producer from Philadelphia.
Beresin co-created the alternative hip-hop project Chiddy Bang, and then departed the project in 2012. The group's early work was known for its sampling of contemporary pop and alternative music.
Noah Beresin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As a child, Beresin was trained in piano, and he attended a children's music education program held at the Philadelphia Clef Club. [1] He began working as a recording engineer & DJ while in high school. [2] Later, Beresin briefly attended Drexel University.
In late 2008, Beresin formed a music project called Chiddy Bang with Chidera Anamege. Beresin, working under the stage name Xaphoon Jones, was responsible for the production. He produced free, downloadable mixtapes for the group in 2009, and then opted to drop out of university. [3]
In 2011, the group signed to Parlophone Records and released 1 EP, followed by 1 album in 2012. After its release, Beresin departed the group to focus on songwriting and production for other artists.
In 2012, Beresin and mixing engineer Ryan Schwabe co-founded Rare MP3s, a Philadelphia based mixing and mastering company that would later become a club night & record label. Their first works included a Baauer remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me” and Ellie Goulding’s cover of Alt-J’s “Tessellate”, the latter of which was included on Halcyon Days as a bonus track. [4]
In 2013, he produced songs for Ellie Goulding, Wiley, Big Boi, and the debut EP for the American indie-pop band Wet.
From 2015 onward, Beresin produced music for a diverse range of artists like Santigold, Christine & The Queens, Spank Rock, Tei Shi & Blood Orange, Ty Dolla $ign, Tobi Lou, Tory Lanez, Carly Rae Jepsen, Broods, Khalid, DVSN, and EricDOA.
In 2016, Pitchfork called him "an increasingly important behind-the-scenes force" in a review of the debut project from rapper Tunji Ige, citing his work with Jeremih as well as electronic producer Baauer. [5]
As a session musician, he's played on recordings for bands like Hop Along, as well as artists such as Pink $weats.
In 2023, Beresin produced the debut album for the New Zealand indie rock project Georgia Gets By, released via the labels Fat Possum/Luminelle.
As a co-writer of the song 'Alone With You' by Kito & Aluna, which was sampled by Skrillex for the song 'Inhale / Exhale', Beresin earned his first Grammy nomination for the album Quest For Fire. [6]

Electropop is a popular music fusion genre combining elements of the electronic and pop styles. It has been described as a variant of synth-pop with outstanding heavy emphasis on its electronic sound. The genre was developed in the 1980s and saw a revival of popularity and influence in the late 2000s.
Kieran Miles David Hebden, known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting and critically acclaimed albums such as Rounds (2003), Everything Ecstatic (2005) and There Is Love in You (2010). In addition to his twelve studio albums as Four Tet, Hebden's work includes a number of improvisational works with jazz drummer Steve Reid and collaborations with Burial and Thom Yorke.
Thomas Wesley Pentz, known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer. He is a co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer; a member of the supergroup LSD, with Labrinth and Sia; a member of electronic duo Jack Ü, with producer and DJ Skrillex; and a member of Silk City, with Mark Ronson. He founded the record company Mad Decent in 2006, as well as the non-profit organization Heaps Decent the following year. His 2013 extended play (EP), Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP's title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.
Elena Jane Goulding is an English singer and songwriter. Born in Hereford and raised in Lyonshall, Goulding began writing songs at the age of 15. She released her debut single "Under the Sheets" through Neon Gold Records in 2009, and signed with Polydor Records that same year, releasing her debut extended play (EP) An Introduction to Ellie Goulding. Her debut studio album, Lights (2010), debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and was reissued as Bright Lights, spawning three successful singles: a cover of Elton John's "Your Song", "Starry Eyed" and "Lights". Her second studio album Halcyon (2012) was preceded by its lead single "Anything Could Happen", and a repackaged edition titled Halcyon Days (2013) produced the single "Burn", which became her first No. 1 single in the UK. Chidera Anamege, now known by his stage name Chiddy Bang, is an American rapper from Philadelphia. Prior to its breakup, Chiddy Bang was an American hip hop duo consisting of Anamege, under the stage name Chiddy, and Noah Beresin, under the stage name Xaphoon Jones. The duo was introduced by former band member Zachary Sewall in late 2008 while the two were studying at Drexel University, in Beresin's hometown of Philadelphia. Anamege's sound is based on the fusion of hip hop and alternative using samples from artists such as Ellie Goulding, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Passion Pit, MGMT, Matt and Kim and Yelle. In 2013, Beresin left the group to focus on producing, and Anamege became a solo artist, with Beresin playing the role as frequent collaborator.
The Preview is the second extended play by American hip hop duo Chiddy Bang. It was released in early October 2010 and did very well in sales, ranking at #2 in iTunes sales for the hip-hop/rap category. It also debuted at #76 on the Billboard 200 with 6,000 copies sold in the first week released.

Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American DJ, record producer, and singer. Growing up in Northeast Los Angeles and Northern California, he joined the post-hardcore band From First to Last as its lead vocalist in 2004, and recorded two studio albums with the band—Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount (2004) and Heroine in (2006)—before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007. After recruiting a new band lineup, Moore joined the Alternative Press Tour to support bands such as All Time Low and the Rocket Summer, and appeared on the cover of Alternative Press's annual "100 Bands You Need to Know" issue.

Halcyon Days is the reissue of English singer Ellie Goulding's second studio album, Halcyon (2012). It was released on 23 August 2013 by Polydor Records. Following the release of Halcyon, Goulding announced that she had plans to repackage the original album, with new songs that focused on electronic music. For the reissue, Goulding recorded 10 new songs and worked with a variety of producers, including Ryan Tedder, Calvin Harris and Greg Kurstin, to create her desired sound.
Henry Alfred Steinway, better known by his stage name RL Grime, is an American record producer and DJ. RL Grime specializes in trap and bass music and is a member of the Los Angeles electronic music collective WeDidIt. His debut Grapes EP was released in April 2012 on WeDidIt. RL Grime premiered a popular Halloween mix in October 2012, which have continued to be released annually through 2023. American based electronic dance musicians The Knocks have released three studio albums, six EPs and thirty-five singles. The duo began their career as remixers in the city of New York, United States, eventually signing to their first ever major record label. Their 2010 single "Dancing With The DJ" was their first instant online success. Philadelphia hiphop band Chiddy Bang sampled The Knocks' "Blackout" for their single "Here We Go" from their EP The Preview. Chiddy Bang subsequently sampled The Knocks' "When You've Got Music" and "Dancing with the DJ" for their mixtape Peanut Butter and Swelly. After the success of "Dancing With The DJ", their debut extended play, entitled Magic was released in 2011.
EDM trap is a fusion genre of trap, rave music and EDM, that originated in the early 2010s on peaking popularity of big room house and trap music genres. It blends elements of trap, which is an offshoot of Southern hip hop, with elements of electronic dance music like build-ups, drops, dense production with rave music synthesizers, sound designs and breakdowns.
