Mohammad Noor Hossain (born December 3,1992) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. [1] A leg spinner and a useful lower-order batsman,Hossain's most memorable performance to date is his 65 at number eight against Zimbabwe Under-19s in a one-dayer in November 2009 to help Bangladesh Under-19s win by one wicket.
Noor Hossain was a Bangladeshi activist who was killed by the Bangladesh Police on November 10,1987,while protesting against President Hussain Muhammad Ershad near Zero Point in Dhaka,Bangladesh. Zero Point was later renamed Noor Hossain Square and the anniversary of his death is officially commemorated each year as Shohid Noor Hossain Day. He is one of the most widely known martyrs of Bangladesh's pro-democracy movement.
Shahadat Hossain is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his Test debut in 2005 during Bangladesh's first tour of England. When he came onto the international scene he was cited by then coach Dav Whatmore as the fastest bowler in the team. The following year,Hossain made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Kenya. At times Hossain has struggled with conceding too many runs,and for that reason was dropped in 2009. In November 2010,Hossain was a member of the squad that won Bangladesh's first gold in any event at the Asian Games. A broken toe prevented Hossain from playing for Bangladesh in July 2011,but after more than a year since his last Test he returned to the squad in October that year. In November 2019,he was given a five-year ban from cricket,after assaulting a teammate. He made history being the first Bangladeshi to take a hat-trick in the ODI format.

Known as the Young Tigers,the team has been playing youth official Test match since 2004,and has won the ACC Under-19 Cup in 2023,winning against the United Arab Emirates national under-19 cricket team by 195 runs in the final match. Serajuddin Hossain was a prominent Bangladeshi journalist. He was the news and executive editor of The Daily Ittefaq. He was captured from his residence by the Pakistan army with the help of Al-Badr and Razakar. He was not only a prominent journalist,but was also considered to be a good writer and translator. He was very close to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was the first to introduce investigative reporting into Bangla newspaper. During the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971,the country was occupied by the Pakistani army. During this time,Serajuddin Hossain wrote in the newspaper on behalf of the liberation war,and secretly helped the freedom fighters.
Z Force,also known as the Tura Brigade,was the first military brigade of Bangladesh Forces,formed during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 under Major Ziaur Rahman along with the consent of the revolutionary government of Bangladesh in exile. The brigade was formed with the 1st,3rd and 8th Battalion of East Bengal Regiment on 7 July 1971. It is the first ever complete brigade formed during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
Noor Hossain Day is a national day in Bangladesh observed every 10 November in order to commemorate the martyrdom of Noor Hossain while protesting for the establishment of democracy in the country against the rule of Hussain Muhammad Ershad in 1987. Noor Hossain who was a motor driver by profession was killed by the police force. At the time he was shot,his body carried several slogans in white paint. He wore the slogan "Down with autocracy" on his chest,and on his back,he had written the slogan "Let Democracy Be Free". The day is honored each year as cultural and political organizations sponsor special programs for observance the day. It was first called "Historic November 10 observance" but the Awami League supported the phrase "Noor Hossain Day",by which it is known today.
