Noosa Pirates Rugby League Football Club is an Australian rugby league football club based in Noosa formed in 1968. In 2017, the Pirates won their first division one title in the Sunshine Coast Rugby League since 2008. [1]

The Shire of Noosa is a local government area about 130 kilometres (81 mi) north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast district of South East Queensland, Australia. The shire covers an area of 868.7 square kilometres (335.4 sq mi). The shire existed as a local government entity from 1910 until 2008, when it was amalgamated with the Shire of Maroochy and City of Caloundra to form the Sunshine Coast Region, and again from 1 January 2014, when it was re-established.

The Central Division of the Queensland Rugby League is responsible for the promotion, administration and facilitation of rugby league throughout most of regional Queensland. Regional areas include the Darling Downs, Wide Bay–Burnett, the South West, the Central West, and Fitzroy & Mackay.

The Division was formed in 2010 as part of an amalgamation between the then Central, South West and Wide Bay divisions. Shortly after the amalgamation three Regions of Central Rugby League were established. The Division's three Region's are the Capricorn Region responsible for the former Central Division, the South West Region responsible for the former South West Division, and the Wide Bay Region responsible for the former Wide Bay Division.

Wayne Bartrim, is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He was selected to represent Australia and Queensland during his career, which he spent playing for the Gold Coast Seagulls, St. George Dragons and the St. George Illawarra Dragons in Australia and the Castleford Tigers in England. Bartrim primarily played his club career as a lock, but played his representative career as a hooker.

Kevin Aherne-Evans is a Welsh football manager and former professional footballer. During his playing career, he made 32 appearances in the Football League for Cardiff City and Swansea City before playing in the Welsh Premier League and Australia. He also won four caps for the Wales Under-21 team. He is currently manager of Noosa Lions. Prior to 2003 he was known as Kevin Evans.

The Noosa Tigers Australian Football Club is an Australian rules football club on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The club emblem is the tiger and the club plays in both Division One and Division Two of the AFL Queensland State League. Noosa Tigers are current Division Two premiers.

The National Rugby League is the top level rugby league competition in Australia and New Zealand. It was formed in 1998 after the merger of the Australian Super League and the Australian Rugby League. It originally contained twenty teams but this was cut down to 14 by 2000. Expansion increased this number back up to 16.

Their seniors compete in QFA Division 1,their reserves compete in QFA Division 1 Reserves, their thirds compete in QFA Division 4, they also have an Under 18 team which competes in QFA Colts Maroon. They have two women's teams, one competes in the top women's league in Queensland, the QWAFL and they have a women's reserves team which competes in QWFA Division 1.

Sunshine Coast Rugby Union

The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union, or SCRU, is the local governing body for the sport of rugby union on Australia's Sunshine Coast. The SCRU runs an amateur club rugby competition for men's teams with two senior grades. There are also rugby 7s programs for male and female players at senior and junior levels, and school competitions for boys and girls at primary and secondary levels. A junior club competition caters for teams grouped by age from under 6 to under 14.
