Nordmøre District Court (Norwegian : Nordmøre tingrett) is a district court located in Kristiansund, Norway. It covers the municipalities of Kristiansand, Aure, Averøy, Eide, Gjemnes, Halsa, Rindal, Smøla, Sunndal, Surnadal og Tingvoll and is subordinate Frostating Court of Appeal. [1]

Norwegian is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Norway, where it is the official language. Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties, and some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. Norwegian is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era.

In Norway, the district court is the first court instance, and handles both criminal and civil cases. The chief judge of a district court is the chief district judge.

Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal, Norway
