The Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, abbreviated and better known as, KKRTC, is a state public transport corporation in the Indian state of Karnataka. It serves routes to towns and cities in the North-Eastern part of Karnataka. (states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa and Tamil Nadu. It offers online booking of tickets in association with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, its parent organisation. Profile of KKRTC: KKRTC was established on 15.08.2000 having been separated from KSRTC for providing "adequate, efficient, economic and properly coordinated road transport services" in the North eastern part of the state of Karnataka. Availability of adequate, safe and comfortable passenger transport facility is a very important index of economic development of any country. Public transport PROVIDES vital connectivity in a developing society. KKRTC is operating 4,254 schedules covering 1.27 million km carrying 1.2 million passengers every day. KKRTC is serving 92% of the villages in its area (3,859 out of 4,203) with transport facility. KKRTC’s infrastructure – one corporate office, 9 divisional offices, 52 depots, 152 bus stands and 4,700 buses.

The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) is a civic transport and electricity provider public body based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was originally set up in 1873 as a tramway company called "Bombay Tramway Company Limited". The company set up a captive thermal power station at the Wadi bunder in November 1905 to generate electricity for its trams and positioned it to also supply electricity to the city and re-branded itself to "Bombay Electric Supply & Tramways (BEST)" Company. In 1926, BEST also became an operator of motor buses. In 1947, the BEST became an undertaking of the Municipal Corporation and rebranded itself to "Bombay Electric Supply & Transport (BEST)". Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) is a public transport company which provides bus services in the Indian state Rajasthan. It is headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The corporation was established by Government of Rajasthan on 1 October 1964 under the Road Transport Act 1950. RSRTC operates ordinary, express and deluxe services. It has 4500 buses in its fleet, 52 depots across Rajasthan and 3 depots outside the state i.e. Indore, Ahmedabad and Delhi. Out of total fleet 4154 buses are on road. As of the 2018-19 reports there are around 2230 routes covered which amount to 5437.74 lakh km per year. It carries around 9 lakh passengers per day to their destinations within and outside the state. RSRTC operates services in Rajasthan and adjoining states of Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Jammu Kashmir and Chandigarh. Ticket reservation is available at all bus stations free of charge. Online ticket facility is available for Air conditioned, Deluxe, Semi-deluxe and express buses through Kiosks in Rajasthan as well as through RSRTC MOBILE APP.

Transport in Karnataka

Karnataka, a state in South India has a well-developed transport system. PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), is a bus operator in Punjab state of India, is a state-run corporation headquartered at Patiala. Originally, it was formed as the Road Transport Corporation of the erstwhile state of PEPSU but when it was merged into Punjab, it became the Road Transport Corporation of whole of Punjab. Later in 1966, when Haryana and Himachal were carved out of Punjab, they formed their own Road Transport Companies. It has a fleet of 1142 buses. At present, the PRTC had owned 1142 ordinary buses, 600 routes covering a daily mileage of 349928 kilometers. It has 3,993 employees of which 1022 are regular. PRTC has 9 depot and 15 bus stands across the Punjab located at Patiala, Bathinda, Kapurthala, Barnala, Sangrur, Budhlada, Faridkot, Ludhiana, Chandigarh and Special Cell of KM Scheme at Patiala. Sardar Manmohan Singh Sathiala held the post of Chairman of PRTC form 2000-2002 and introduced Kilometre scheme, initiated GPS system on its buses and built bus stand at historic city of Talwandi Sabo.
