Uinta National Forest is a national forest located in north central Utah, US. It was originally part of the Uinta Forest Reserve, created by President Grover Cleveland on 2 February 1897. The name is derived from the Ute word Yoov-we-teuh which means pine forest. Because of changes to the boundaries over the years, the Uinta Mountains are now located in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. In August 2007 it was announced that the Uinta National Forest would merge with the Wasatch–Cache National Forest based in Salt Lake City, Utah, 50 miles (80 km) north of Provo, Utah.

Junior Burton Ioane is an American former professional football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans. He attended Arizona State University, and was selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2000 NFL draft. He was also a member of the New York Giants in 2006 but spent the entire season on injured reserve.

North Sanpete School District is a public school district in the U.S. state of Utah. The district provides education for students in the northern half of Sanpete County. The offices for the district are located in Mount Pleasant. There are five elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and one alternative school within the district. Enrollment in 2004 was 2,376 students.

South Sanpete School District is a public school district in the U.S. state of Utah. The district provides education for students in the southern half of Sanpete County. The offices for the district are located in Manti. There are three elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and two alternative schools within the district. Enrollment in 2004 was 2,792 students.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Vasco M. Tanner</span> American entomologist

Vasco Myron Tanner was an American entomologist from Utah, professor of zoology, and chair of the zoology and entomology departmentat Brigham Young University (BYU). Tanner also taught at Dixie College while he did research. He published over 140 scientific articles, mostly focusing on insects, but also researching birds, mammals, reptiles and fishes. He also founded the journal The Great Basin Naturalist. Tanner was a part of numerous entomology recreational societies and worked to reduce flood risk as chair of the forestry and flood control committee with Provo's Chamber of Commerce. Tanner created and funded an award at Dixie College, which still exists today. He also donated money to create an entomological research fund at the college. He has numerous insect species named after him because of his research in the field.
