The North Texas Fresh is a semi-professional basketball team based in Fort Worth, Texas. The Fresh are a member of the Universal Basketball Association.
The franchise is owned by Jay Bowdy, who was a high school and college player from the Fort Worth area. [1] After two seasons at Southwestern Christian College (2006 NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention) Bowdy transferred to the University of West Georgia, an NCAA Division II program.
The Fresh play their home games in Fort Worth, Texas, at Crowley Middle School. [2] The team schedules games against both UBA and non-UBA (independent) opponents. [3]
Established in 2009, the Fresh began play in the American Basketball Association 2009-10 season. [4] After three seasons in the ABA the Fresh moved to the UBA in 2012.

The Dallas Chaparrals were a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team moved to San Antonio, Texas for the 1973–74 season and were renamed the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the 1976–77 NBA season as a result of the ABA–NBA merger.

He returned to the NBA for the 2003–04 season, but he transitioned back to minor-league and semi-professional play, and he retired from professional basketball in 2010.

The Wilmington Sea Dawgs are a professional basketball team and founding member of the Tobacco Road Basketball League. Gary Lee "Tex" Bradds was an American basketball player. After a successful college career at Ohio State, where he was the 1964 College Player of the Year, he played an integral role with the 1968–69 Oakland Oaks, the American Basketball Association champions. He attended Greeneview High School, where he scored 61 points in a game. The school's gym is named in his honor.

The 1970–71 Texas Chaparrals season was the fourth season of the Chaparrals in the American Basketball Association. In order to try to attract more fans, the Chaparrals adopted the Texas moniker, even playing games in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Tarrant County Coliseum along with Lubbock, Texas, at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. This practice was scrapped after the season, along with the moniker, as the team was renamed before the next season. For the fourth straight year, the Chaps made the playoffs, but for the third straight year in a row they bowed out in the Division Semifinals, once again to Utah.
Elnardo Julian Webster Sr. was an American professional basketball player who played one season in the American Basketball Association (ABA). He played college basketball for the Saint Peter's Peacocks. Webster played in the ABA for the New York Nets and Memphis Pros during the 1971–1972 season. He also played in the Lega Basket Serie A in Italy. At a height of 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m), he played at the small forward position.
