The North Wales International Music Festival is a classical music festival held annually in St Asaph Cathedral in North Wales. It was founded by William Mathias in 1972 and takes place every September. William Mathias was artistic director of the Festival for twenty years until his death in 1992. [1] He was followed by Geraint Lewis and Ann Atkinson, who was also in post for twenty years before stepping down in 2023. [2] Paul Mealor was announced as the festival's new artistic director on 2 October 2023. [3]

The Leeds International Piano Competition, informally known as The Leeds and formerly the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition, takes place every three years in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1961 by Marion, Countess of Harewood, Dame Fanny Waterman, and Roslyn Lyons, with the first competition being held in 1963. Waterman was the chair and artistic director up to the 2015 competition when Paul Lewis and Adam Gatehouse became Co-Artistic Directors. The first round of the competition takes place internationally and in 2021 went 'virtual' when 63 pianists were recorded in 17 international locations and the Jury deliberated online, in order to circumvent the various impacts of Covid. Paul Mealor CLJ FLSW is a Welsh composer. A large proportion of his output is for chorus, both a cappella and accompanied. He came to wider notice when his motet Ubi Caritas et Amor was performed at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in 2011. He later composed the song "Wherever You Are", which became the 2011 Christmas number one in the UK Singles Chart. He has also composed two operas, four symphonies, concerti and chamber music.

The Heidelberger Frühling was founded in 1997 as a classical music festival and has since developed into a year-round cultural institution that conceives and organises festivals, concert series and conferences with internationally established performers, ensembles, orchestras and speakers as well as support programmes for young artists. Around 47,700 visitors (2019) are reached at a total of over 120 events per year. Thorsten Schmidt has been the Managing and Artistic Director since 1997. Heidelberger Frühling belongs to the festival region Rhein-Neckar.
