The Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS) is a US Government Contractor [1] which is tasked with providing social services to people in the Northeast Kingdom, Vermont. These services include help with: chronic mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse problems and other mental health and medical psychiatric needs. [2]
It employed 480 workers in 2009. [3] It had offices in Newport and St. Johnsbury. [2]
In 2013, 200 employees moved to a 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) facility in Derby. [4]

The Twelve Tribes, a religious organization formerly known as the Vine Christian Community Church, Northeast Kingdom Community Church, the Messianic Communities, and the Community Apostolic Order is a new religious movement founded by Gene Spriggs that sprang out of the Jesus movement in 1972 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The group calls itself an attempt to recreate the 1st-century church in the Book of Acts; the name "Twelve Tribes" is also derived from a quote of the Apostle Paul in Acts 26:7. The group has also been referred to as The Yellow Deli People and informally as The Community.
