The Northern Talent Cup is a one-make European motorcycle racing series. It was created to give young riders from Central and Northern European countries a first stepping stone on the road to MotoGP. [1]

The series races on the KTM 250 Standard, and uses the European Talent Cup as a blueprint. One of the top riders will have a chance to race in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup the next year, and at least two will be take part in the Rookies cup selection. [1]

In the inaugural season in 2020, Hungarian rider Soma Görbe won the title, [2] and sixth place German Freddie Heinrich raced in the 2021 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, and in 2021, Czech rider Jakub Gurecký won the cup, [3] and he and Belgian runner-up Lorenz Luciano were selected for the 2022 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

The 2012 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season was the sixth season of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. The season began at Circuito de Jerez on 28 April and ended on 30 September at MotorLand Aragón after 15 races. The races, contested by the riders on equal KTM 125cc machinery for the last season before switching to the 250cc 4-stroke Moto3 bikes for 2013, were held at eight meetings on the Grand Prix motorcycle racing calendar.

Pedro Acosta Sánchez is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing in MotoGP for the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 team. Acosta took his maiden win in only his second Moto3 race at the 2021 Doha motorcycle Grand Prix after starting from the pitlane for irresponsible riding in free practice. In the same season, he won the 2021 Moto3 World Championship becoming the first rookie champion since Loris Capirossi in 1990, and the second youngest ever champion, just one day older than Capirossi was at the time of winning. In 2023, Acosta won the Moto2 world championship with 2 races to go. Acosta is also a champion of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, having won the title in 2020.

The 2022 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 74th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Izan Guevara won the championship for GasGas Aspar Team after the Australian Grand Prix.

The Honda British Talent Cup is a United Kingdom junior motorcycle racing series. It was founded in 2018 for riders at ages 12 to 17 from the British Isles to apply.

The 2022 North America Talent Cup is the inaugural season of the North America Talent Cup. The season opener was held alongside the MotoGP series event, the Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas, at COTA and will end at MotoAmerica's final round of 2022 at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The inaugural season will feature only 20 riders, all racing on the Aprilia RS250SP2. The top two at the end of the season will be invited to join in the selection event for the 2023 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

David Alonso Gómez is a motorcycle racer who currently competes for the CF Moto Aspar Team in the Moto3 World Championship. Colombian by maternal descent and Spanish by paternal descent, he represents Colombia internationally. He won the European Talent Cup in 2020 and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2021. Born in Spain, he also has Spanish citizenship.
