The Norwegian Association of Health and Social Care Personnel (Norwegian : Norsk Helse- og Sosialforbund, NHS) was a trade union representing auxiliary nurses and care workers in Norway.

The union was founded in 1965 as the Norwegian Nursing Auxiliaries' Union. In 1988, it affiliated to the Confederation of Vocational Unions, and by 1996, it had 49,692 members. In 2003, it merged with the Norwegian Union of Municipal Employees, to form the Norwegian Union of Municipal and General Employees. [1] [2]

A referendum on joining the European Community was held in Norway on 25 September 1972. After a long period of heated debate, the "no" side won with 53.5% of the vote. Prime Minister Trygve Bratteli, who had championed a "yes" vote, resigned as a result. The Government agencies of Norway are state-controlled organizations that act independently to carry out the policies of the Government of Norway. The government ministries are relatively small and merely policy-making organizations, allowed to control agencies by policy decisions but not by direct orders. A minister is explicitly prohibited from interfering with the day-to-day operation in an agency or the outcome in individual cases. Central Norway Regional Health Authority is a state-owned regional health authority responsible for operating the hospitals in the counties of Nord-Trøndelag, Sør-Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal in Norway. Based in Stjørdal, the authority operates five health trusts that operate nine hospitals. It is led by chairman Kolbjørn Almlid and CEO Stig Arild Slørdahl.
