After succeeding in turning operations in various companies in the late 1990s, she has become best known as a health executive. She was the chair of the Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority during its entire existence from 2001 to 2006, later chief executive officer of Oslo University Hospital from 2009 to 2011.

The Western Norway Research Institute, is an assignment based research foundation founded by the county municipality of Sogn og Fjordane. Located in the Fosshaugane Campus, of the Sogn og Fjordane University College in Sogndal, the Institute is independent of the University and conducts research and development studies commissioned by research councils, industry and, the public sector. Båtsfjord Airport is a former regional airport located at Båtsfjorddalen in Båtsfjord, Norway. It consisted of an 800-by-30-meter gravel runway aligned 01–19 and had a simple terminal building. Construction of the airport was started a local aviation club in 1972 and was completed with a 600-meter (2,000 ft) runway in May 1973. The runway was extended the following year and in 1976 the airport was municipalized. From the start Norving operated air taxi and air ambulance flights. Following an upgraded terminal in 1978, the taxi services became scheduled and the Britten-Norman Islander was introduced to Kirkenes and Vadsø. From 1983 the Dornier 228 entered service on the Båtsfjord route.

Topdalsfjorden or Tofdalsfjorden is a fjord in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) long fjord runs from the village of Ålefjær south to the city centre of Kristiansand. The river Topdalselva empties into the fjord at the eastern side just south of the Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik. The European route E18 highway crosses the fjord on the Varodd Bridge.
