Not Afraid to Stand Alone is the second studio album by American hip hop group Native Deen, released in November 2007 by Native Deen LLC.
Not Afraid to Stand Alone was released in November 2007. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] The album features fusion, R&B and hip hop, [7] [8] and throughout the album percussion instruments are solely used. [9] A voice only version of the album was released. [10] [11] [12] [13]
The group incorporated a wider range of sounds and themes. The album features themes of praising Allah, hardships of being a Muslim, being steadfast in practicing Islam, fearing Allah, value of life, importance of prayer, about Prophet Muhammad, Dawah (calling others to Islam), Hajj (largest Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca), having trust in Allah and being proud of being a Muslim. The most notable change to their previous album is possibly the introduction of South African style singing, as well as more brooding examinations of the discrimination frequently faced by Muslims living in America. All lyrics are written by Native Deen, except "Still Strong" (written by Joshua Salaam, Islam B and Omar Shah) and "Rain Song" (written by Naeem Muhammad, Nadia Afghani and Linda Douglas Gcwensa).

The Five-Percent Nation, sometimes referred to as the Nation of Gods and Earths (NGE/NOGE) or the Five Percenters, is a Cultural movement influenced by Islam founded in 1964 in the Harlem section of the borough of Manhattan, New York City, by Allah the Father, who was previously known as Clarence 13X and, before that, Clarence Edward Smith.
Elijah Muhammad was a religious leader who led the Nation of Islam (NOI) from 1934 until his death in 1975, and was known as The Messenger of Allah (God), to the Nation of Islam believers, not traditional Muslims. Muhammad was also the teacher and mentor of Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali, and his own son, Warith Deen Mohammed.
Warith Deen Mohammed, also known as W. Deen Mohammed, Imam W. Deen Muhammad and Imam Warith Deen, was an African-American Muslim leader, theologian, philosopher, Muslim revivalist, and Islamic thinker (1975–2008) who disbanded the original Nation of Islam (NOI) in 1976 and transformed it into an ostensibly orthodox mainstream Islamic movement, the Bilalians (1975), World Community of Al-Islam in the West (1976-77), the American Muslim Mission (1978-85,) which later became the American Society of Muslims. He was a son of Elijah Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam from 1933 to 1975.

A nasheed is a work of vocal music that is either sung a cappella or accompanied by percussion instruments such as the daf. In general, Islamic anasheed do not contain lamellaphone instruments, string instruments, or wind and brass instruments, and digital remastering – either to mimic percussion instruments or create overtones – is not permitted as this is still a form of instrumentation and mimics actual instruments. The only acceptable instrument is the daf, which is to be used during weddings as some in the time of Muhammad. It can also be used in certain ceremonies.

Outlandish was a hip-hop music group based in Denmark. Formed in 1997, it consisted of Isam Bachiri, Waqas Ali Qadri, and Lenny Martinez. All three members are religious, with Isam and Waqas being Muslims and Lenny being Catholic. The group disbanded in 2017 as each member wanted to pursue personal projects. In 2019 band members Waqas and Lenny brought back the band as a duo while Isam continued to pursue a solo career. Outlandish has since released two singles and are currently working on a new album which is set to be released in April 2020.
A is for Allah is the name of a double album created for Muslim children by Yusuf Islam. The album was released on 11 July 2000 by Resurgence UK Records. The title song was written in 1980 upon the birth of Yusufs first child, a daughter named Hasanah. Yusuf wanted his daughter to learn the Arabic language as well as read and understand the Qu'ran. He himself was raised in London, the same city where they still lived, and had kept a home there throughout his life. Being a recent convert to the Islamic religion, he was concerned with the difficulties he would face securing a high-quality 'Islamic' education for his children.
"Dub Yalil" is a world music song performed by Belgian singer Natacha Atlas. The melody and additional lyrics were written by Atlas and produced by Transglobal Underground for the Atlas' debut album Diaspora (1995). It was released as a single in 1994.
Footsteps in the Light is a compilation album of songs by Yusuf Islam spanning the years from 1981 to 2004 after his conversion to Islam. It shows a major shift in his musical focus, and demonstrates Yusuf Islam's journey from that of a pop star to a Muslim performer, who began a slow return to recording music, beginning with a song written for his daughter Hasannah, "A is for Allah", after finding that few children's songs were available not just to entertain, but to acquaint young people with Islamic teachings. During this period, Yusuf employed only the use of voice and drums in recording these songs, due to a lack of consensus among the Islamic community regarding whether the use of musical instruments were permitted. Other than the songs written, Yusuf recorded nasheeds, spoken word, and Muslim prayers, as with the traditional call to prayer, the Aḏhān. Yusuf added his own touches to a very old Middle Eastern folk song, Tala'al Badru Alayna, adding a Western folk sound with melody and harmonics, and translating some of the verses into English from the original Arabic, so that the song might be understood in more than one language.

They represent one of the larger minority Muslim populations of the United States as there isn't an ethnic group that makes up the majority of American Muslims. Salat al-jama‘ah or prayer in congregation (jama'ah) is considered to have more social and spiritual benefit than praying by oneself. When praying in congregation, the people stand in straight parallel rows behind the chosen imam, facing qibla. The imam, who leads the congregation in salat, is usually chosen to be a scholar or the one who has the best knowledge of the Qur'an, preferably someone who has memorised it in its entirety. In the first row behind the Imam, if available, would be another hafiz to correct the Imam in case a mistake is made during the performance of the salat. The prayer is performed as normal, with the congregation following the actions and movements of the imam as he performs the salat.
