Nothophaeocryptopus is a genus of fungi which inhabits conifer needles, in the family Mycosphaerellaceae. [1] [2] It includes the important pathogen Nothophaeocryptopus gaeumannii which infects Douglas-fir trees causing the disease known as Swiss needle cast. [3]
