Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu (born 18 July 1956),commonly known as O. M. Ogbulu,is a Nigerian academic. He served as the 8th vice-chancellor of Abia State University Uturu from December 2021 to November 2024. [2] [3] [4] [5]
Abia State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The state is bordered to the northwest by Anambra State and to the northeast by the states of Enugu and Ebonyi,Imo State to the west,Cross River State to the east,Akwa Ibom State to the southeast,and Rivers State to the south. Abia is the only Southeastern state that has boundaries with the other four Southeastern states in Nigeria. It takes its name from the acronym for four of the state's most populated regions:Aba,Bende,Isuikwuato,and Afikpo. The state capital is Umuahia while the largest city and commercial centre is Aba.
The University of Chittagong is a public research university located in Hathazari,Chattogram,Bangladesh. It was established on 18 November 1966. It is one of the oldest universities in Bangladesh. Lagos State University,popularly known as LASU,is a Lagos state government-owned university established in 1983. Its main campus is situated at Ojo,with sub-campuses at Ikeja and Epe. The university was set up "for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence". The university caters to over 35,000 students. The university was established during the administration of Late Lateef Kayode Jakande. The university offers diploma,degree and post graduate programmes,including an MBA programme. LASU was ranked among the top 600 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2020. On 23 June 2021,LASU emerged as the best young university in Nigeria having been below the age of 50 years to be added. Times Higher Education ranked the Lagos State University as the second best university in Nigeria on 2 September 2020,and was the only state university included in the rankings for 2022. The university has attracted international funding,including for the establishment of a World Bank Group Africa Centre for Excellence on Science,Technology,Engineering,and Mathematics.
The Federal University of Agriculture,Abeokuta is one of the universities owned and managed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and is it situated at Abeokuta,Ogun State.

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is a Federal higher institution located in Maiduguri,the capital city of Borno State in Northeast Nigeria. The university was created by the federal government of Nigeria in 1975,with the intention of its becoming one of the country's principal higher-education institutions. Ambrose Alli University (AAU) is a state-owned university in Edo State,Nigeria. It was established in 1981 by the governor of Bendel State,Ambrose Folorunsho Alli. Initially known as Bendel State University,subsequently known as Edo State University,and finally changed to its present name in commemoration of Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli,AAU is accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The Ambrose Alli University Library houses the information resources for the institution.
The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,originally the Federal University of Agriculture,is a federal university in Umudike,Abia State,Nigeria was established as a specialized University by a Federal Government of Nigeria Decree No 48 of November 1992. It began formal activities in May 1993 with the appointment of the first Council and Vice-Chancellor Professor Placid C. Njoku on 27 May 1993,while other key officials of the University were appointed later.
Rosina Mamokgethi Phakeng is a South African professor of mathematics education who in 2018 became a vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town (UCT). She has been the vice principal of research and innovation,at the University of South Africa and acting executive dean of the College of Science,Engineering and Technology at UNISA. In 2018 she was an invited speaker at the International Congresses of Mathematicians. In February 2023 it was announced that she would leave her position as vice-chancellor of UCT and take early retirement. She was succeeded by Professor Daya Reddy on 13 March 2023.
Talat Ahmad is an Indian Earth Scientist,former Professor at the Department of Geology,University of Delhi and served as Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Senior Scientist. He served as Chairman of Governing body which oversees Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology,Dehradun from 1 December 2021 onwards and served the office till 30 November 2027. Previously,he commenced his second stint as Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir on 6 August 2018 and served the office till 20 May 2022. Before that,he served as Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia,he resigned from the post a few months short of his full term. He was shortlisted by a committee constituted by the governor to shortlist a panel for the post. He had earlier taken over as Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir from Professor Riyaz Punjabi on 1 June 2011 and served there until the year 2014. Prior to this,he was teaching Geology at the University of Delhi.

He previously served as the vice chancellor of the University of Agriculture,Makurdi and the pioneer vice chancellor of the Federal University,Dutsin-Ma respectively before succeeding Alfred Akawe Torkula,Tor Tiv IV,who ruled from 1991 until his death on 22 November 2015.
Uchenna Ikonne was a Nigerian professor of optometry and politician. In December 2015,he became the 7th substantive vice-chancellor of Abia State University,having previously served as the rector of Abia State Polytechnic,Aba,from 2014 to 2015.
Placid Njoku is a Nigerian professor and politician who served as the deputy governor of Imo State from 2020 to 2024. He assumed office alongside his running mate Hope Uzodimma by the verdict of the Supreme Court annulling the election of incumbent Emeka Ihedioha. Njoku earlier served as the first Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Abia State.
Nnenna Nnannaya Oti is a Nigerian professor and the first female substantive Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri. Oti defeated Ikechukwu Dozie on 13 April 2021 and has resumed office as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the institution on 19 June 2021.
Darjeeling Hills University is a public state university in Darjeeling district,West Bengal,India. The university was established in 2021 by The Greenfield University Act,2018 of the Government of West Bengal. This act was later amended by The Greenfield University (Amendment) Act,2019 which replaced the name 'Greenfield University' with 'Darjeeling Hills University'. The university became active with the appointment of the first Vice-Chancellor (VC),Subiresh Bhattacharya,in November 2021.
