Obada Prize is an international award supported by the Natural Sciences Publishing and African Academy of Sciences (North African Branch). [1] [2] It was established to recognise the excellence of Egyptian Mathematics Emeritus Professor, Obada Abdel Shafy. [3] The award aims to identify creative interdisciplinary research that cuts across traditional boundaries. It also aims at encouraging values and excellence that can promote the humanistic scientific and technological breakthrough that can improve our world. [3] [4]

Obada-Prize award categories

Obada-Prize involves three categories and they are; Distinguished Researcher, Young Distinguished Researchers (who are aged 40 or below) and the undergraduate and Post Graduate Students. [5] [4]

Obada Prize ceremony

At the Obada Prize Ceremony, the winners are given Certificates, Obada-Prize Medal and a  document showing the Obada-Prize amount which can be used as a waver code for the publication fees in NSP International Journals. [5]

His research, which spans three main areas of applied mathematics, is focused on the use of mathematical modeling and rigorous approaches, together with statistical analysis, to gain insight into the dynamics of real-life phenomena arising in the natural and engineering sciences. The main emphasis of Gumel's work is on the mathematical theory of epidemics – specifically, he uses mathematical theories and methodologies to gain insights into the qualitative behavior of nonlinear dynamical systems arising from the mathematical modelling of phenomena in the natural and engineering sciences, with emphasis on the transmission dynamics and control of emerging and re-emerging human infectious diseases of public health and socio-economic interest.

Naveen Garg is a Professor of Computer Science in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, specializing in algorithms and complexity in theoretical computer science. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, India's highest prize for excellence in science, mathematics and technology, in the mathematical sciences category in the year 2016. Naveen Garg's contributions are primarily in the design and analysis of approximation algorithms for NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems arising in network design, scheduling, routing, facility location etc.

Jinde Cao is an Endowed Chair Professor at Southeast University, Nanjing, China. He is a Distinguished Professor, the Dean of School of Mathematics and the Director of the Research Center for Complex Systems and Network Sciences at Southeast University.

Abdel-Aty is an Egyptian professor of mathematics and information science at Sohag University and the Mathematics Department at Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation. He is an elected fellow and the former North Africa Vice President of the African Academy of Sciences, the President of the Egyptian National Committee for the International Mathematical Union, and the Director of the Center for International Relations at Sohag University.

Ahmed Gomaa Ahmed Radwan is an Egyptian professor of Engineering Technology & Applied Sciences at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. He is an elected fellow of African Academy of Sciences, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Abdel-Shafy Fahmy ObadaAAS is an Egyptian professor of mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University. He is an elected member and the former Vice president of African Academy of Sciences. A fellow of the British Institute of Physics, a founding member and the first president of the Egyptian Mathematical Society.

Alaa A. Abdel Bary is an Egyptian professor of mathematics at the Department of Basic & Applied Science Department, in the College of Engineering & Technology, at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, & Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt. He is the Vice President for Postgraduates Studies and Scientific Research, a former Vice President for Student Affairs and a former Dean of Student Affairs of the institution.

Alfaisal A. Hasan is an Egyptian professor of Engineering Mathematics at the Department of Basic & Applied Science in the College of Engineering and Technology Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Ganoub Alwadi Branch (AASTMT). He is the Dean of Admission and Registration, the Vice Dean of Educational Affairs and the Head of Basic and Applied sciences Department of the same institution.

Nageh Allam is an Egyptian Professor of materials science and engineering at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He is the Director of the Nanotechnology graduate program of the institution. He is a receiver of the World Academy of Sciences Young Scientist Award, Obada Prize Award and an elected member of the African Academy of Sciences.

Sohail Nadeem is a Pakistani Professor of Applied Mathematics and Chairman of Mathematics Department at Quaid-i-Azam University. He is Young Fellow of the world Academy of sciences and an elected Fellow of Pakistan Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the 2022 Obada Prize Award.

Sherif El- Khamisy is an Egyptian Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. He is the Director of Research and Innovation and co-founder of the Healthy Life Span Institute, University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He is also one of the 2022 winners of Obada Prize
