Obioma Okoli (born 3 June 1992) is a Nigerian weightlifter. [1] She competed in the women's 63 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal. [2] [3]

The competition took place on 25 July and was the first weightlifting event to conclude. The event took place at the Clyde Auditorium.

Santoshi Matsa is an Indian weightlifter who won the silver medal in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. Matsa had originally finished in bronze medal position, but the gold medal winner Chika Amalaha of Nigeria failed a drug test, elevating Matsa to silver medal position. Santoshi lifted a total of 188 kg — 83 kg in snatch and 105 in clean and jerk.

Augustina Nwaokolo won the first gold medal of the games which see her setting a new Games record of 175 kg after lifting 77 kg in the snatch and 98 kg in the clean and jerk. This saw her became the first Nigerian teenage weightlifter to achieve that in an International competitions and the Commonwealth Games. The event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Obioma Nwankwo predominantly known as Osiskankwu was a Nigerian kidnapper and murderer. He terrorised Abia state from 2008 until he was apprehended by the Joint Military Task Force of the Nigerian army on 12 December 2010.

Obioma Nwaorgu is a Nigerian parasitologist and epidemiologist. She is an emeritus professor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. She was educated at the University of Nigeria and University of Cambridge. Nwaorgu is remembered for her research and initiatives to eradicate the parasites associated with Guinea worm disease, malaria, river blindness, and snail fever. She was the lead researcher on twelve tropical disease research projects sponsored by the World Health Organization.
