Art Brut are an English indie rock band. Their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, was released on 30 May 2005, with its follow up, It's a Bit Complicated, released on 25 June 2007. Named after French painter Jean Dubuffet's definition of outsider art – art by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people, and made without thought to imitation or presentation – South London's Art Brut were tagged by NME as part of the "Art Wave" scene that also included bands such as The Rakes, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. The band released further albums, Art Brut vs Satan in 2009 and Brilliant! Tragic! in 2011. A fifth album, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!", was released in 2018.
The Creation are an English rock band, formed in 1966. Their best-known songs are "Making Time", which was one of the first rock songs to feature a guitar played with a bow, and "Painter Man", which made the top 40 on the UK Singles Chart in late 1966, and reached No. 8 on the German chart in April 1967. It was covered by Boney M in 1979, and reached the No. 10 position on the UK chart. "Making Time" was used in the film Rushmore, and as the theme song from season 2 onwards of The Great Pottery Throw Down.
Joe Foster is an English musician and record producer, who, with Alan McGee and Dick Green, formed Creation Records in 1983.
Tom Hingley and the Lovers were a British alternative rock band formed by singer Tom Hingley, brothers Steve Hanley and Paul Hanley (drums), keyboardist Kelly Wood and guitarist Jason Brown. Brown was initially replaced by Rahman Baloch and Andrew Tarling joined on guitar in 2012 for their final dates. In September 2022 the band announced they were briefly reforming with Jason Brown back on guitar for two performances: 2023 February 3 AATMA in Manchester and February 4th at the 100 Club in London.
Furnaceface was a Canadian punk indie rock band formed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which was active from 1989 to 2000. The group consisted of vocalist and guitarist Pat Banister, vocalist and bassist Slo' Tom Stewart, and drummer Dave Dudley. In 1993, Furnaceface won the Canadian Music Video Association Award for best independent video for "About to Drown" from Just Buy It., and another one a couple of years later for Best Editing for "How Happy Do You Want to Be?" from This Will Make You Happy.
Manna is the third studio album by American soft rock band Bread, released in 1971. The title, like that of the preceding album On the Waters, is a Biblical pun on the name Bread, in this case the manna from Heaven which was fed to the Israelites. Although it was not literally bread it has often been metaphorically described as bread from Heaven.
The singles "Let Your Love Go" and "If" were released from this album. Record World said "Let Your Love Go" has a "heavier sound than usual from [the] group." Cash Box said that it "brings a new strength to the act's vocal sound, rumpling a bit of the letter-perfect smoothness of their first two hits."
