Odessa High School is a public high school in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware. It has a Townsend postal address, [3] while its name refers to nearby Odessa. It is a part of the Appoquinimink School District. The ducks are the mascot.

Contents

It is a part of the Fairview K-12 Campus, which is on a former corn field and also includes the Old State Elementary School and Spring Meadow Early Childhood Center. [4] It shares its building with Cantwell's Bridge Middle School. [5]

History

The Appoquinimink district began developing the complex circa 2010. [4]

The district selected the duck mascot in 2017. [6] The building had a cost of $148 million. Groundbreaking began in January 2018. [5]

Construction completed in fall 2020 and opened with grade 9 students. As the COVID-19 pandemic in Delaware occurred, the initial students did virtual learning. The athletic teams began in November 2020. [7]

The Appoquinimink School District is a public school district in southern New Castle County, Delaware. The district office is located in the Odessa Park Building, 313 South Fifth Street, in Odessa, Delaware, with Matthew Burrows as the current superintendent. Former superintendent Tony Marchio retired in June 2011. The district is growing by nearly 600 students every year, making it the fastest growing school district in Delaware.

Myles Cale is an American professional basketball player for Dolomiti Energia Trento of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates of the Big East Conference. He attended Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Delaware. Cale is the son of a police officer and founded the “Cale Cares” mentoring program in Middletown, which connects police with local teenagers.
