The Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC, Thai : สำนักงานคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษา, RTGS: Samnakngan Khanakammakan Kan Udomsueksa) is a department-level agency of the Thai government. It is the operating body of the Higher Education Commission, which oversees the country's universities and other higher education institutions.

The office was established as the Ministry of State University Affairs in 1972, operating as a sub-ministry under the Office of the Prime Minister. It was elevated to ministry level in 1977, and became known as the Ministry of University Affairs (ทบวงมหาวิทยาลัย, RTGS: Thabuang Mahawitthayalai) until 2003, when it was restructured under the Ministry of Education as the OHEC. [1] In 2019, it was transferred to the new Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

Wesleyan University-Philippines (WU-P) is a private, non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian university located in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines and run by the United Methodist Church (UMC). Founded in 1946 as the Philippine Wesleyan College, it is named after John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. The university offers pre-elementary, grade school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs. It also initiated the Support for the Handicapped and their Rehabilitation through Education (SHARE) Program, the first school in Central Luzon to integrate hearing-impaired students into mainstream classes.

University Grants Commission (India) Indian government agency on standards of higher education

The University Grants Commission of India is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disbursements of funds to such recognized universities and colleges. The headquarters are in New Delhi, and it has six regional centres in Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bangalore. A proposal to replace it with another new regulatory body called HECI is under consideration by the Government of India. The UGC provides doctoral scholarships to all those who clear JRF in the National Eligibility Test. On an average, each year 725 crore (US$96 million) is spent on doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships by the commission.

Muban

Muban is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as 'hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). As of 2008, there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. As of the 1990 census, the average village consisted of 144 households or 746 persons.

Nation University (Thailand)

Nation University originally called ‘Yonok College’ was granted by the Ministry of University Affairs to start teaching in 1988 and operated by Yonok Foundation. Yonok College was granted by the Office of the Higher Education Commission to change the type from college to become ‘Yonok University’ on 23 August 2006 and later on 30 November 2011 the Ministry of Education as suggested by the Higher Education Commission permitted to change the name to ‘Nation University.’

Assumption University (Thailand) University in Bangkok, Thailand

Assumption University is a private Catholic university with 3 campuses: Huamak near Rajamangala Stadium, the Suvarnabhumi area of Samut Prakan Province and City Campus located at Central World Plaza in downtown Bangkok, Thailand. The university is administered by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel congregation, which has been active in Thai education since 1901. The programs are taught in English.

Ministry of Justice (Thailand)

The Ministry of Justice is a cabinet ministry in the Government of Thailand. The ministry is in charge of the criminal justice system in the kingdom. As well as running prisons and aiding the Royal Thai Police, the ministry also runs the government's drug and narcotic control policies. Ministry of Education (Thailand)

The Ministry of Education is a Thai governmental body responsible for the oversight of education in Thailand. It was established by King Rama V (Chulalongkorn) in 1892 as the Ministry of Public Instruction which controlled religion, education, healthcare, and museums. In 1941, the ministry changed its Thai name to the present one.

Higher education accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which services and operations of post-secondary educational institutions or programs are evaluated to determine if applicable standards are met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the agency.

The Ministry of Culture, is a Thai government body responsible for the oversight of culture, religion, and art in Thailand. Its FY2019 budget is 8,209.4 million baht.

Kasit Piromya Thai diplomat and politician

Kasit Piromya is a Thai diplomat, Democrat Party politician, and former People's Alliance for Democracy activist. He was Foreign Minister of Thailand under Abhisit Vejjajiva from 2008 to 2011.

Mom Luang Panadda Diskul is a Thai civil servant and independent politician. He was Governor of the provinces of Nakhon Pathom and Chiang Mai, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister. From 2014 to 2016 he was Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and since 2016 he has been Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand.
