MKS Ogniwo Sopot is a Polish rugby club based in Sopot, in Pomeranian Voivodeship. They have been the Polish national champions 11 times.
Tricity, or Tri-City, is an urban area in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, consisting of three contiguous coastal cities in Pomerelia forming a row on the coastline of the Gdańsk Bay, Baltic Sea, namely the cities of Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot, along with other cities and towns in their vicinity. In 2021, the three core cities were inhabited by 749,786 people, while the Tricity together with its metropolitan area had a combined population of between 1 and 1.5 million, depending on the definition of the boundaries of the latter.
Sopot is a seaside resort city in Pomerelia on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland, with a population of approximately 40,000. It is located in Pomerania Province and has the status of county – the smallest city in Poland to have that status. Sopot lies between the larger cities of Gdańsk to the southeast and Gdynia to the northwest. The three cities together form the Tricity metropolitan area.

Inter-Enterprise Strike Committee was an action strike committee formed in Gdańsk Shipyard, People's Republic of Poland on 16 August 1980. It was led by Lech Wałęsa and others and is famous for issuing the 21 demands of MKS on 17 August, that eventually led to the Gdańsk Agreement and creation of Solidarity.
Anna Barbara Miros is a Polish volleyball player. She plays for MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland and is also a member of Poland women's national volleyball team. She won the European Champion in 2003 with the latter.
The BNP Paribas Sopot Open is a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It is currently part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour. Although due to be held annually in Sopot, Poland, it was played in nearby Gdynia in 2018 but moved to Sopot Tenis Klub in 2019.

Grzegorz Kacała is a Polish former professional rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, and has coached rugby union in the 2000s and 2010s. He was born on 15 March 1966. In rugby union, his position was in the back row, usually Number 8. He is the only Polish player to have been on a Heineken Cup winning team, in 1997. He did so with CA Brive. He was named man of the match in the final against Leicester Tigers. He currently coaches in Poland at Lechia Gdańsk (2009/2010). He also played with Cardiff RFC. He started his professional career in the Polish League.
The Polish Open was a tennis tournament held in Sopot, Poland in 2011. In 2018, a new ATP Challenger Tour tournament named Sopot Open will be held in Gdynia.
