Oh No Not Stereo is a high-energy melodic rock band from Los Angeles, California. [1]
Oh No Not Stereo was formed by Skyr Nielsen and Myk Agee in Hollywood, California in June 2003. [1] The two met at a music store in Hollywood within months of moving to LA. Immediately they collaborated musically and began writing together, developing their concept of a live-duo that delivers a full 'conventional' sound. (The band's name relates to Nielsen's inability to hear out of his right ear, suffered from a serious ATV accident in 1993.) In December 2004, the duo recorded with producer Marc Jordan (Velvet Revolver, Rock Kills Kid, A Static Lullaby) and independently released their first full-length record "001" on May 10, 2005.
Oh No Not Stereo toured relentlessly as a duo for eighteen months before meeting Joshley Hogan in Oklahoma City in February 2005. He soon relocated to Los Angeles to join the band playing bass. In October 2005, the three piece re-hired Marc Jordan to record a self-titled EP, which they would release independently in January 2006. Nielsen and Lee continued to tour with Hogan until he left the band in June of that same year. The duo soon then-after signed a distribution deal with Takeover Records in November 2006. They re-packaged, re-mastered and re-released their EP with the label on Feb 20th 2007, this time referring to the EP as "002". The sixth track on the re-release is different than the sixth track self-titled EP; the band decided to replace "Monster" with "Every Link In The Chain", which was engineered by Ken Harter at Wedge Studios in Long Beach. The band filed for breach of contract with Takeover Records shortly afterward due to financial struggles with the label.
Warren Miller Films and MTV Networks regularly license Oh No Not Stereo's music for use in shows such as Bam's Unholy Union, Paris Hilton's My New BFF, and Meet the Barkers. The group was also chosen out of over 4,000 bands to compete in MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout contest in 2007.
Oh No Not Stereo added Michael Rosenthal on bass and Pat O'Donnell on second guitar before playing SXSW in 2007, Vans Warped Tour dates and touring with Sugarcult that spring and summer. Nielsen and Lee inhabited a house in Scottsdale, Arizona where they wrote over 50 songs together between May and July 2007. They then returned to the studio in October 2007 to self-produce their latest works, "003" and "004", with assisted production from Max Coane (Jack's Mannequin, The Rocket Summer), and Jim Wirt (Incubus, Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin). After the two-month recording process, Scott Trieglaff was added on bass and Brandon Henderson was added on second guitar for their 'SxSW Tour 2008'. With this line-up, Oh No Not Stereo completed over 25,000 miles of touring across the U.S. between March and June 2008. The band also a completed a co-headlining UK tour with Bayside and Hit The Lights in December 2008 with touring members Jussi Karvinen and Airin Older (Sugarcult). In January 2009 ONNS supported The All-American Rejects in the UK with Jussi Karvinen on guitar and touring bass player Everett Connors. The band was a featured showcasing artist at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas in March 2009, with Marc Wysocki on bass guitar.
After the digital release of their latest record (003) on January 13 (2009) Oh No Not Stereo designed a Limited Edition Bonus EP (released as 004) to be included in the Deluxe Edition of the album for fan club members and online pre-orders. The physical release of the 15-track record was on March 10, stocking the shelves of select Hot Topic and Best Buy stores nationwide. As an effort to reward fans and friends on the mailing list, and shine a light on the dynamic capability of the band, ONNS offered a free download every Monday in October (2009) of exclusive live-acoustic tracks and video footage of "Say Anything", "All You", "This Friday Night", and "Let's Get It Started".
As a result of their successful independently driven marketing campaign, ONNS spent seven consecutive weeks on the CMJ Top 200 radio charts.
Skyler and Mykul spent most of 2010 writing new material for their fifth release and third full-length, InCaseOfStaresUseFire. Throughout the year the pair accumulated over 50 new songs that they kept track of on a white board in their kitchen. That was the easy part. By the end of the year, as the duo prepared to fly producer Jayson DeZuzio (Foxy Shazam, Coheed and Cambria) out to LA from New Jersey, the great task became how to sift through these tracks and assemble a cohesive album.
In the end, 10 songs were recorded over the course of six weeks in early 2011, both in the band’s home studio and SoundFactory studios in Hollywood (this time adding guitarist Jussi Karvinen in the mix as the third leg to the writing, pre-production and recording process.) The new record, meant to be experienced as a complete album, offers a dynamic range, veering from the propulsive rock of the album opener “Make My Move” to the angular heaviness of “Behind Closed Doors” to the ballad “Brighterside”. There’s a notable thematic variety to the songs as well, but the common thread is that of positivity.
“We take a lot of pride in being independent, which allows us to do whatever we want musically,” Skyler says. “No two songs on this record are about the same thing or same person, yet each song was written in confidence that the listener will be able to relate.”
Additionally, the band spent 16 weeks this summer conceptualizing and filming a music video for every song on the album. The intention: To infuse the record with additional life and offer visual experiences that parallel the meanings of the tracks. As an added bonus, the video for "All You" was licensed for MTV’s current reboot of Beavis and Butthead.
Sugarcult is an American rock band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1998. The band currently consists of Tim Pagnotta, Airin Older (bass), Marko DeSantis, and Kenny Livingston (drums).
Senses Fail is an American rock band formed in Ridgewood, New Jersey, in 2001. Founded by vocalist Buddy Nielsen, drummer Dan Trapp, guitarists Garrett Zablocki and Dave Miller, and bassist James Gill ; the band has seen many lineup changes, with Nielsen being the only consistent member. The band has released eight studio albums, two EPs, and one live album. Discovered by their first manager, Heath Miller of Excess dB Entertainment, booked them on a show opening for Catch 22 at Rexplex, where the owners of Drive Thru Records saw them live for the first time and offered to sign them on November 30, 2002.
The Chariot was an American hardcore punk band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of metalcore that did not adhere to typical stylings popular among their contemporaries such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes.
The Impossibles are a rock music band from Austin, Texas, originally on the Fueled by Ramen label. They played ska punk prior to their first break-up in 1998, but transitioned to a more indie rock/alternative sound upon reuniting.

Gob is a Canadian punk rock band from Langley, British Columbia, formed in 1993. The band consists of Tom Thacker, Theo Goutzinakis, Gabe Mantle and Steven Fairweather. They were nominated for a Juno Award for best new group in 2000, and received another Juno nomination for best video in 2002. Gob's most successful album is World According to Gob. Their best-selling songs to date are "I Hear You Calling", "Soda", and "Banshee Song". They have been featured in movies, TV shows, and many sporting video games such as NHL 2002, NHL 2003, NHL 2004 and Madden NFL 2004 with songs such as "Oh! Ellin", "I've Been Up These Steps", "Sick With You", "I Hear You Calling" and "Give Up the Grudge". The band has appeared at several music festivals, the most well-known being the Vans Warped Tour. Thacker is also a lead and rhythm guitarist for fellow Canadian rock band Sum 41.
Crime in Stereo is a Long Island-based hardcore punk band. The group released four full-length albums and a compilation, recording for the labels Blackout!, Nitro, and Bridge Nine before disbanding in 2010 and subsequently re-forming in 2012. Since 2012, the group have performed sporadically, released a song on a compilation in 2021, and eventually released their fifth full-length album, House & Trance in October 2023 on Pure Noise Records.
Hellogoodbye is an American pop rock band that was formed in Huntington Beach, California in 2001 by singer Forrest Kline. They were signed to Drive-Thru Records and released their first full-length album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! in 2006, having previously released the EP Hellogoodbye in 2004, and DVD OMG HGB DVD ROTFL in 2005. In 2010, the band released Would It Kill You? on their label Wasted Summer Records. The album was released in the United Kingdom and Europe by LAB Records on March 14, 2011. Hellogoodbye released their third album, Everything Is Debatable, on October 29, 2013, while touring as the opening act for Paramore's The Self-Titled Tour. Their fourth album, S'Only Natural, was released on October 5, 2018.
Just Surrender is an American rock band from Dover Plains, New York, formerly known as A Second Chance, formed by three high school friends: Jason Maffucci, Andy Meunier and Steve Miller. The vocalist/guitarist Dan Simons, formerly of The Record Collection, joined the original three and it was a four-piece until 2008. The band is known for the up-beat mood in its music and for not having a lead vocalist, but rather having two vocalists who "share the spotlight". The group has released three studio albums and one EP.

Rock Kills Kid was an American art punk/alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California that consisted of Jeff Tucker, Shawn Dailey (bass), Sean Stopnik (guitar), Reed Calhoun (keyboards/vocals), and Mike Balboa (drums). Their music often drew comparisons to new wave/post-punk bands such as the Cure, Echo & the Bunnymen, Duran Duran, Modern English and U2, as well as new bands such as the Killers and Franz Ferdinand. They were named one of Rolling Stone magazine's "10 Artists to Watch in 2006". The group disbanded in 2010, ending their short-lived career.

Mayday Parade is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida. Formed in 2005, the band was a result of a merger between two local Tallahassee bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. Their debut EP Tales Told by Dead Friends, was released in 2006, and sold over 50,000 copies without any label support. In July 2007, Mayday Parade released their debut album A Lesson in Romantics. Having been signed to Fearless Records since 2006, the band also signed onto a major label with Atlantic Records in 2009. Their second studio album, Anywhere but Here was released in October 2009 and their third album, entitled Mayday Parade, was released in October 2011. Mayday Parade's fourth album, titled Monsters in the Closet, was released in October 2013. Their fifth album, titled Black Lines, was released October 2015. In April 2018, the band signed to Rise Records and released their sixth studio album Sunnyland on June 15, 2018. Their seventh studio album, What It Means to Fall Apart, was released on November 19, 2021.
The Summer Obsession is an American punk rock band formed in 2004, known for mixing punk, hip hop, electronica, reggae, and many other genres.
Tales Told by Dead Friends is the debut EP by American rock band Mayday Parade, released on June 13, 2006. The group resulted from the merger of local acts Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. With their line-up solidified, the first two songs they wrote together were "When I Get Home, You're So Dead" and "Three Cheers for Five Years". Soon afterwards, they recorded an EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, with Lee Dyess. The group followed Warped Tour and sold copies to people in line. By the end of summer, the band had sold 10,000 copies of the EP. This attracted the attention of Fearless Records, who would sign the band in late August. The group went on tour from September to November, before the EP was reissued by Fearless.
Deas Vail was an alternative rock band whose lyrics are influenced by their members' Christian faith. The band's name is a combination of Latin and old French, roughly translated as "humble servant of God." Their eponymous third full-length album earned them slots at Bonnaroo and a headlining performance at CMJ.
The band Far-Less has released three EPs and three full-length studio albums. They recorded a fourth EP "The Headache" in 2008 that was never officially released.
Bayonet is an American hardcore punk band that formed in 2009. The group features Jeremy Comitas formerly of The Banner, Paul Klein of Suburban Scum, Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail, and Will Putney of Fit for an Autopsy. Putney is also an established record producer who has engineered albums for Bloodsimple, Suicide Silence and The Human Abstract among others.
