Okno is a small community located in the Municipality of Bifrost-Riverton, [1] 16 km north of Arborg, Manitoba Canada.

Historically settled by Icelandic and Ukrainian settlers [2] , since the 1970s the area has increasingly been settled by Mennonites. It is home to the Interlake Mennonite Fellowship Church and the Interlake Mennonite Fellowship School.

Steinbach is a city located about 58 km south-east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Interlake

Interlake Region

Manitoba's Interlake is a region that lies roughly between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba in the Canadian province of Manitoba. The region comprises 14 rural municipalities, one city, six towns and one village, Dunnottar. The largest population centre in the region is Selkirk. The second largest is the town of Stonewall. The region is divided into three of Statistics Canada's census divisions of Canada: Manitoba Census Divisions No. 13, No. 14, and No. 18, which together had a population of 91,743 at the 2016 census. The total land area of the region is 15,855.37 km².

Rosenort is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district in Manitoba located about 17 kilometres from Morris and about 47 kilometres south of Winnipeg. It is located in the Rural Municipality of Morris which had a population of 3,047 inhabitants in 2016.

Peguis First Nation is the largest First Nations community in Manitoba, Canada, with a population of approximately 10,300 people. The reserve is located approximately 190 kilometres north of Winnipeg. The members of Peguis are of Saultaux (Ojibway) and Cree descent. The First Nation is named after Peguis, the chief who led a band of Saultaux people from present-day Sault Ste. Royden Loewen is a retired Canadian History Professor and Chair in Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg. As a prominent historian in the field of Mennonite history, his book about the Mennonite Communities 1850-1930 is a leading publication about the emigration waves from south Russia to Canada.
