The Old Eau Gallie Post Office is a historic U.S. building located at 1596 Highland Avenue, in the Eau Gallie section of Melbourne, Florida. The building was constructed in 1890s of rusticated block [1] and was used as a post office from 1900 to 1925. [2]

Eau Gallie is a section of the city of Melbourne, Florida, located on the city's northern side. It was an independent city in Brevard County from 1860 until 1969.

State Road 518, also called Eau Gallie Boulevard, is a short but major east–west highway with a western terminus at Interstate 95 on the Florida mainland, crossing the Indian River via the Eau Gallie Causeway, and having its eastern terminus at SR A1A. William H. Gleason House United States historic place

The William H. Gleason House is a historic home in Melbourne, Florida, United States. The house was built around 1884 by William Henry Gleason and his wife Sarah Griffin Gleason and is at 1736 Pineapple Avenue in the Eau Gallie neighborhood founded by the Gleasons before incorporating with Melborne in 1969. Gleason House is an outstanding example of Queen Anne style architecture. On January 25, 1997, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Winchester Symphony House

Winchester Symphony House is a historic home located in the Eau Gallie-section of Melbourne, Florida. The house was built in 1886. William Treutler, director of the State Bank of Eau Gallie and hotel proprietor in Eau Gallie, built the house. Brevard County and the State of Florida list this building as a historic site. Currently, the house serves as the headquarters for the administrative staff of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.

Houston Pioneer Cemetery

The Houston Pioneer Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Eau Gallie, Florida. It is located within Rossetter Park off Highland Avenue between Oak Street and Shady Lane near the James Wadsworth Rossetter House. The cemetery includes graves of original settlers from Eau Gallie such as John Caroll Houston, III and his wife Mary Virginia Houston. The Houston Memorial Park is also located here with a memorial from 1947 located adjacent to the cemetery. This memorial dates the first grave at 1865, but no headstone contains that date. John Caroll Houston, IV was buried here.

Rossetter Park is a public park located on the East side of Highland Avenue between Oak Street and Shady Lane in Eau Gallie, Florida. The park contains the Houston Pioneer Cemetery. The park also contains several grand old live oaks festooned with hanging moss.

The building was constructed in 1924 by Jesse Karrick and it was used as a general merchandise and grocery store until 1963. Jesse Karrick was the first proprietor of the store and also served as the first fire chief of Eau Gallie.

Eau Gallie Public Library

The Eau Gallie Public Library was founded in 1898, making it the second oldest library in the Brevard County Library System, Florida, United States. The founders initially established the library in the Eau Gallie Post Office. The library was moved to several different locations over the years, including the city hall, the civic center and a restaurant In 1962, the library was moved to its current location at 1521 Pineapple Avenue in Eau Gallie, where a new building was constructed in 1998.


Eau Gallie Yacht Club

The Eau Gallie Yacht Club is a U.S. boating organization, located in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida with access to the Indian River. The original clubhouse is also a historic building. The club has 1,200 members.

Joseph Horatio Wickham (1911-2000) was a prominent Brevard County, Florida politician serving on the County Commission from 1952 to 1964 and from 1972 to 1984. Wickham's most notable achievements were securing rights of way for many of the county's current roadways, and establishing a permanent mosquito control program. One of these roads is Wickham Road.
