The Old Georgians Sports Club is a sports club Harare. Its facilities include a cricket ground. The cricket ground played host to one first-class cricket match in October 1992, when Zimbabwe B played the touring New Zealanders, [1] which saw the New Zealanders Dipak Patel (5 for 54) and Simon Doull (6 for 37) taking five wicket hauls, and Mark Greatbatch scoring a century. [2] In the same month the ground hosted its first List A one-day match when the Zimbabwe Cricket Union President's XI played the touring Indians, [3] who were touring Zimbabwe to take part in the Zimbabwe's first Test series. The ground later held two one-day matches in the 2000 ICC Emerging Nations Tournament, with the Netherlands playing Ireland and Kenya, though the match against Ireland was called off due to a poor outfield and uneven pitch. [4] After a gap of nearly 20 years, the last one-day match to be played there came in the 2019–20 Pro50 Championship when the Eagles played the Rangers. [3]

Other sports played at the club are rugby, tennis, golf and squash.

The Rising Stars were a Zimbabwean first-class cricket team that was formed in 2017. They played their home matches at Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield, Harare. The team was founded by Zimbabwe's former Test cricket captain Tatenda Taibu. They played in Zimbabwe's domestic cricket competitions, starting with the 2017–18 Logan Cup.

Brad Evans is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 1 April 2018 for Cardiff MCCU against Gloucestershire as part of the Marylebone Cricket Club University fixtures. In December 2020, he was selected to play for the Eagles in the 2020–21 Logan Cup. He made his Twenty20 debut on 10 April 2021, for Eagles, in the 2020–21 Zimbabwe Domestic Twenty20 Competition. He made his List A debut on 18 April 2021, for Eagles, in the 2020–21 Pro50 Championship. Evans was also named as a standby player in Zimbabwe's squad for their Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Pakistan.

Daniel Jakiel is a Zimbabwean-born cricketer who currently represents the Malawi national team. He made his List A debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2018–19 Pro50 Championship on 23 February 2019. He was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with thirteen dismissals in four matches. He made his Twenty20 debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2018–19 Stanbic Bank 20 Series on 11 March 2019.

The 2019–20 Logan Cup was the 26th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe. The tournament started on 12 December 2019, and was scheduled to finish on 16 February 2020. It featured five franchise teams, including a new team, the Rangers. Mountaineers were the defending champions.

Tanunurwa Makoni is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his first-class debut on 18 December 2019, for Rangers in the 2019–20 Logan Cup. Prior to his first-class debut, he was named in Zimbabwe's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut on 5 February 2020, for Rangers in the 2019–20 Pro50 Championship. In December 2020, he was selected to play for the Tuskers in the 2020–21 Logan Cup.

Wesley Nyasha Madhevere is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his international debut for the Zimbabwe cricket team in March 2020.

The Harare South Country Club is a country club to the south of Harare. Its facilities include a golf course and a cricket ground. The cricket ground has played host to first-class and List A one-day matches. It first hosted first-class cricket in 1987, when Zimbabwe B played Pakistan B. Following Zimbabwe's elevation to Test status in 1992, matches in the Logan Cup gained first-class status, with both Mashonaland Country Districts and Mashonaland using the ground for home matches; the ground also played host to List A matches for both Mashonaland Country Districts and Zimbabwe Country Districts, in addition to hosting three matches in the 2000 ICC Emerging Nations Tournament. First-class cricket has not been played there since 1997 and List A cricket has not been played there since 2001.

Sarah Dambanevana is a Zimbabwean cricket umpire and former international cricketer. She played for the Zimbabwe women's cricket team between 2009 and 2014, including at the 2011 World Cup Qualifier. In 2022, she was added to the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. She was one of the female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She became the first female Zimbabwean umpire to make her debut appearance in ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
