Old Hill Cricket Club is a cricket club in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, England.
The club was founded in 1884 as Haden Hill Victoria, and has played on the Haden Hill ground in Cradley Heath since founding, having purchased it in 1934. The ground is owned by a Trust and shared with Old Hill Tennis Club. Historically the club was situated in the County of Staffordshire although boundary changes at one time placed it within the ambit of Worcestershire. It is for this reason that there is a joint affiliation with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Cricket Boards.
Old Hill joined the Birmingham League in 1920, and first won the league in its second year of membership. The club also won the Division 1 title in 1940, 1960, and 1983. The 1st XI currently competes in the Worcestershire County Cricket League (WCL) Premier Division and the 2nd XI play in WCL Division 3. The 3rd XI meanwhile plays in WCL Division 9 (North). They are one of the most prominent clubs in English cricket, winning the ECB National Club Cricket Championship in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1993, and being runners-up in 1989. [1]
The club currently runs three Saturday XIs together with one Sunday XI, the Sunday XIs participating in the Worcestershire County Border league. The Club's first, second and third XIs compete in the Worcestershire County League.
In addition during the recent years major steps have been taken to initiate a girls’ section within the club, with a women's team representing the club for the first time in 2004. In 2005, the girls under-13 team. the girls won the national Lady Taverners girls' championship; beating Bath in the final. [2] As a result of this win, the team was named BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year junior team winners 2005. [3]
Rowley Regis is a town and former municipal borough in Sandwell in the county of the West Midlands, England. It forms part of the area immediately west of Birmingham known as the Black Country and encompasses the three Sandwell council wards of Blackheath, Cradley Heath and Old Hill, and Rowley. At the 2011 census, the combined population of these wards was 50,257.

Its T20 team is called the Birmingham Bears. Founded in 1882, the club held minor status until it was elevated to first-class in 1894 pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. The National Counties, known as the Minor Counties before 2020, are the cricketing counties of England and Wales that do not have first-class status. The game is administered by the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), which comes under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Its Vitality Blast T20 team has been rebranded the Worcestershire Rapids, but the county is known by most fans as 'the Pears'. The club is based at New Road, Worcester. Founded in 1865, Worcestershire held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship in the 1890s, winning the competition three times. In 1899, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to first-class status. Since then, Worcestershire have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.
Cradley Heath is a town in the Rowley Regis area of the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, England, 2 miles (3 km) north-west of Halesowen, 3 miles (5 km) south of Dudley and 8 miles (13 km) west of central Birmingham. Cradley Heath is often confused with the neighbouring Halesowen district of Cradley from which it is separated by the River Stour; both are in the Black Country but have long been administered by different local authorities, and until 1966 were in separate counties.
The Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League is the oldest club cricket league in the United Kingdom, formed in 1888. It was the first ECB Premier League, being designated such in 1998, and is one of the strongest of the ECB Premier Leagues.
The Barnt Green Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club in Barnt Green, near Bromsgrove in North Worcestershire. Their 1st and 2nd XIs currently play in the Birmingham and District Premier League Premier Division. The 3rd and 4th XIs play in the Worcestershire County Cricket League. They were the last club to be invited into the Old Birmingham League set-up before the pyramid system was introduced, replacing Mitchells and Butlers Cricket Club, and won the Division 1 title in their first season, in 1995. They also won the Division 1 title in 1997, and the Premier Division title in 2005 and 2011. They were runners-up in the ECB National Club Cricket Championship in 2002 and 2005. They play their home games at Cherry Hill Road, Barnt Green, which is also used by Worcestershire County Cricket Club 2nd XI. Former internationals who have played for the club include Grant Flower, Richard Illingworth, Dougie Brown and Gus Mackay. Current players include Darren Cullen, the only man ever to have played on every ground in the league at least three times and be able to recite countless tales from a number of 'last-ball' thrillers.
George Frederick Wheldon was an English sportsman. In football, he was an inside-forward with good footwork and an eye for goal who played for England and several Football League clubs, in particular for Small Heath and Aston Villa. In cricket, he was a right-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper, who played county cricket for Worcestershire in their early seasons in the first-class game.
Abdul-Kadeer Ali is an English first-class cricketer who is currently at minor counties side Staffordshire. He has played for Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Leicestershire as well as appearing for England A. He was capped by Gloucestershire in 2005. He is of Pakistani descent and studied at Handsworth Grammar School.

The Second XI Championship is a season-long cricket competition in England that is competed for by the reserve teams of those county cricket clubs that have first-class status. The competition started in 1959 and has been contested annually ever since.

Old Hill is an village in Rowley Regis in the metropolitan borough of Sandwell in the West Midlands, England, situated around 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Halesowen and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of Dudley. Initially a separate village it is now part of the much larger West Midlands conurbation.
Cradley Heathens was a motorcycle speedway team from Dudley, England. The team was founded in 1947 and competed at the top level of British speedway until its closure in 1995. It was revived as Dudley Heathens in 2010, competing in the National League, reverting to the Cradley Heathens name in 2013. It ceased operating after the 2019 season, although a team bearing the Heathens name has operated under the NORA umbrella on the Isle of Wight in 2021 and 2022 and in 2022 won The Michael Richardson Trophy.
