The Old Scholars Football Association is an Australian rules football competition in southern Tasmania, Australia.
The competition currently stages an eighteen-round roster season which is cut to a top four at the end of the roster series for a four match finals series played according to the McIntyre system, culminating in the grand final.
The former Tasmanian Amateur Football League (Southern Division) known also as the Southern Amateurs split into two divisions at the start of the 1981 season, forming a District division and an Old Scholars division.
In 1987, the clubs in the TAFL (Old Scholars Division) broke away to form the Old Scholars Football Association.
With the admission of the Richmond Football Club in 2001 and Channel Football Club in 2009, the competition saw the loss of New Town Old Scholars in 1995 and The Friends' School Old Boys Football Club (formed in 1934) in the 2005 season.

Soccer in Tasmania describes the sport of soccer being played and watched by people in the state of Tasmania in Australia.
Football Tasmania (FT) is the governing body for soccer in the Australian state of Tasmania. The federation oversees competitions across Tasmania, Tasmanian representative teams, and development of the sport in the state. The federation was known as the Tasmanian Soccer Association until 1996, when it was renamed to Soccer Tasmania. In line with national changes in March 2006, it became Football Federation Tasmania. In February 2019, the organisation became simply Football Tasmania.
Football NSW is the governing body for soccer in the Australian state of New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW. Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia. Football NSW's premier football competition is the National Premier Leagues NSW. The premier futsal competition is the Futsal Premier League. Prior to 1 April 2007, Football NSW was known as Soccer NSW.
The Tasmanian State League (TSL), colloquially known as the Tasmanian Football League (TFL), was the highest-level Australian rules football competition in the state of Tasmania. It disbanded following the end of the 2024 season in preparation for the Tasmania Football Club to enter the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2026.
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. Founded in 1892, it consists of six senior divisions, ranging from Premier to Division 3 in the men's competition and Premier to Division 4 in the women's competition.
In Tasmania, Australian rules football is a popular spectator and participation sport. It has been played since the late 1860s and draws the largest audience for any football code in the state. A 2018 study of internet traffic showed that 79% of Tasmanians are interested in the sport, the highest rate in the country. It is governed by AFL Tasmania and according to Ausplay there are 13,927 adult players with a participation rate of 2.5% per capita about a quarter of which are female playing across 12 competitions.
The Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL), is a semi-professional Australian rules football competition based in Adelaide, South Australia. Comprising sixty-seven member clubs playing over one hundred and ten matches per week, the SAAFL is one of Australia's largest Australian rules football associations.

The Brighton Football Club, nicknamed the Robins, is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia.
The Channel Football Club is a former Australian rules football club that last played in the Old Scholars Football Association (Tas) in 2015.
In its history, the club had been a playing member of the Huon Football Association from 1967-1995, the Southern Football League from 1996-2008 and lastly the Old Scholars Football Association from 2009-2015.
The club, which had struggled for much of the previous fifteen years, went into recess owing to a lack of available players prior to the 2016 season and folded.
The Lindisfarne Football Club, nicknamed the Two Blues, is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia.
The Henley Sharks Football Club is an Australian sports club headquartered in Henley Beach, South Australia. Established in 1899, Henley's main sports are Australian rules football and netball. The football team currently plays in the Adelaide Footy League. The Henley 'Sharks' field 5 senior men's teams in the league, Division 2, Division 2 Reserves, C & D Grade plus an Under 18's. The sharks in recent years have also established women's teams along with the many many junior teams in the SANFL in grades ranging from Under 8's through to Under 16's boys & girls.
The Northern Tasmanian Football Association is an Australian rules football competition in northern Tasmania. This league is not related to the older version of the NTFA, which merged in 1987 with the NWFU to form the Northern Tasmanian Football League.
The Scottsdale Football Club is an Australian rules football club which competed in the old Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) between 1948 and 1986. Scottsdale joined the Northern Tasmanian Football League in 1987. For financial reasons, Scottsdale could no longer field a team in the NTFL and in 2000 switched to the new NTFA, an amateur competition which had been formed four years earlier. Scottsdale, nicknamed The Magpies, currently play in a competition of the Northern Tasmanian Football Association.
The Dominic Old Scholars Association Football Club is an Australian Rules Football team currently based in Hobart, Tasmania. It is a member of the Old Scholars Football Association.
The Brighton Districts and Old Scholars Football Club Inc., nicknamed the Bombers, is an Australian rules football club based in the southern suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in 1991 as a merger between the former Brighton Football Club and Brighton High Old Scholars Football Club. Also known as the Brighton Bombers, BDOS competed in the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL). In 1994, BDOS joined the Southern Football League in the junior grades, and were followed by the senior teams from the SAAFL in 1997. In 2017, BDOS shifted to the Adelaide Footy League.
Tasmania University Football Club (TUFC) is an Australian football club associated with the University of Tasmania. The Club currently plays in the Old Scholars Football Association.
The Football Federation Tasmania 2014 season was the second season under the new competition format in Tasmania. The competition consists of three major divisions across the State of Tasmania, created from the teams in the previous structure. The overall champion for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2014.
The SMOSH West Lakes Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the western suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in 1996 as a merger between the former St. Michael's Old Scholars and Hindmarsh Football Club and West Lakes Football Club. The club has participated in the South Australian Amateur Football League since being formed.
The PHOS Camden Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the south western suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in 1994 as a merger between the Plympton High Old Scholars Football Club and Camden Football Club, who had broken away from an existing merger with the Greek Football Club. The club has participated in the South Australian Amateur Football League since being formed.
