The Brewery (Albion Brewery, Coldhurst Street, Oldham) was built close to the town centre by the Stott family of architects.

There were numerous OB tied public houses in and around the Oldham area.
The brewery was sold to Boddington's in 1982 and brewing in Oldham stopped soon afterwards. Boddingtons itself was sold to Whitbread in the 1990s and the OB Brand disappeared from sale.
More recently, Robinson's Brewery bought the brand in 2006 and OB Bitter can be found on sale in some Robinson's pubs, and as a guest beer in some others.

Brains is a regional brewery based in Cardiff, Wales. It was founded in 1882 by Samuel Arthur Brain. The company controls more than 250 pubs in South Wales, Mid Wales and the West Country. The company took over Crown Buckley Brewery in Llanelli in 1997 and Hancock's Brewery in 1999. In 2000 Brains moved to the former Hancock's Brewery just south of Cardiff Central railway station. The Old Brewery, in Cardiff city centre, has been developed into a modern bar and restaurant complex.
Foster's Group Pty. Ltd. was an Australian beer group with interests in brewing and soft drinks, known for Foster's Lager, now called Carlton & United Breweries since the company was renamed in 2011. Boddingtons Brewery was a regional brewery in Manchester, England, which owned pubs throughout the North West. Boddingtons was best known for Boddingtons Bitter (Boddies), a straw-golden, hoppy bitter which was one of the first beers to be packaged in cans containing a widget, giving it a creamy draught-style head.
McEwan's is a brand of beer owned by Marston's Brewery. It was originally brewed by William McEwan's Fountain Brewery in Edinburgh, Scotland. Emu is a beer brand name now owned by Lion. It was originally brewed by the Emu Brewery in 1908 until the brewery's sale to the Swan Brewery in 1927. The production of the Emu branded beer continued from a separate autonomous brewery in Perth until 1978, and then was relocated to a combined brewery in Canning Vale. In 2014 Lion Nathan moved production of both the Emu and Swan beer brands to the company's West End Brewery in South Australia. Following the closure of the West End Brewery in October 2020, it was announced that Swan and Emu branded beer would be brewed in either Queenslands XXXX Brewery or Tooheys Brewery in New South Wales.
Higsons was a brewery in Liverpool, England, founded in 1780 and closed by Whitbread in 1990. Higsons beer was brewed in Sheffield and Durham after closure before being discontinued. The brand has been revived in the 21st century.
