The Olef Valley Railway (German : Oleftalbahn or Flitsch) or OTB is a 17.8-kilometre-long, single tracked, unelectrified branch line from Kall through the Schleiden Valley above Schleiden to Hellenthal. The line is currently used by tourists; travelling on the heritage railway in the summer months or occasionally by goods trains. However, there are attempts to reactivate passenger services that were ceased in 1981.

The Stadtbahn combines an efficient urban railway in the city with an S-Bahn, overcoming the boundary between trams and trains. Its logo does not include the green and white S-Bahn symbol used in other German suburban rail systems and the symbol is only used at stops and stations outside the inner-city tram-operation area.

The Ruhr Valley Railway is a partly abandoned railway line in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, running from Düsseldorf-Rath via Old Kupferdreh station, Bochum-Dahlhausen, Witten-Herbede, Hagen-Vorhalle and Schwerte to Warburg. It was built between 1872 and 1876 by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company, one of the three major private railway companies in the Ruhr area. The railway tracks that were built along the Ruhr river had a relatively uniform grade that was suitable for railway operations at the time.

The Börde Railway is a single track, non-electrified branch line in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, running from Düren via Zülpich to Euskirchen. It is named after the Jülich-Zülpich Börde, which it runs through. Today, it is particularly important for freight transport. Every weekend, the Eifel-Bördebahn is operated as a volunteer-operated passenger train. The services is also scheduled to run during the week from 2018, running hourly from 2020.

It is the only remaining station in the town.

Schöneseiffen is a village southwest of Schleiden in the county of Euskirchen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Dieffenbach stream rises north of the village. Schöneseiffen has a population of 433 (2021). Schöneseiffen has sports field, a Bürgerhaus and a youth centre.

The Olef Dam is located in the vicinity of the Eifel National Park near Hellenthal within the High Fens-Eifel Nature Park in the county of Euskirchen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its reservoir stores around 20 million cubic metres and is fed by the River Olef.
