Oliver Henry James Saffell (born 16 July 1986) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who formerly played for Derbyshire. He was born in Derby.
Saffell made his Second XI debut against Yorkshire in June 2005, bowling 10 overs for 41 runs.
He also plays rugby for Derby Rugby Club.
Saffell's first-class debut took place in April 2007, when he took part in a draw against Cambridge University Cricket Club, in which Danish acquisition Frederik Klokker also made his Derbyshire debut. Saffell and Klokker aided Derbyshire to a draw, with the pair scoring 135 runs between them, including 35 not out for Saffell batting at number 11.
Saffell is currently signed to the MCC Young Cricketers and is based at lords.
Saffell was also 12th man for England against South Africa in 2008, and West Indies in 2009.
Ole Henrik Mortensen is a Danish first-class cricketer, probably the best his country has produced. A fast-medium right-arm bowler, in a first-class career with Derbyshire that ran from 1983 to 1994 he took 434 wickets at a good average of 23.88.
Levi George Wright was an English footballer and first-class cricketer. He played association football for Derby County and Notts County and cricket for Derbyshire from 1883 to 1909 being captain for a season and a half in 1906–07. He scored over 15,000 runs in his first-class career and took 237 catches. He was one of nineteen sportsman who achieved the Derbyshire Double of playing cricket for Derbyshire and football for Derby County.

Samuel Richardson was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire between 1871 and 1878 and captained the side from 1871 to 1875. He was a member of the team that played Derbyshire's first match in May 1871 when he was captain and wicket-keeper. He fled the country after financial irregularities were found in connection with his administration of Derbyshire Cricket Club and Derby County.
William Mycroft was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire and MCC between 1873 and 1886. He was a left-arm fast bowler with a great deal of spin and a dangerous yorker that was often believed to be unfair – which may explain why he was not considered for the earliest Test Matches despite being in his prime. He took 863 first-class wickets at an average of 12.09 with 87 five-wicket innings and 28 ten-wicket matches in his career. His first ten-wicket match in 1875 against Nottinghamshire became the first of six in only nine games that season. He holds the Derbyshire record for most wickets in a single match, with figures of 17–103 against Hampshire at the Antelope Ground, Southampton in July 1876. This is one of only two times a player has taken seventeen wickets in a match and finished on the losing side – the other, by Walter Mead in 1895 was also against Hampshire. Mycroft had no pretensions as a right-handed tail end batsman: he scored only 791 first-class runs at an average of 5.34 and prior to Alf Hall and Father Marriott remained the last significant cricketer who took more wickets than he scored runs.
Walter Sugg was an English first-class cricketer, who played for Yorkshire in 1881, and for Derbyshire from 1884 until 1902.
Akhil Patel is an English cricketer who plays for Nottinghamshire. He is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm unorthodox spin bowler. Patel was born in Nottingham. Patel made his debut first-class appearance for Derbyshire in April 2007 at the age of just 16, making a sturdy innings of 31 against Cambridge University UCCE, assisting the county's new Danish star Frederik Klokker on the latter's way to a century in just his second first-class appearance.

Sir Sydney Herbert Evershed was an English brewer and cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire from 1880 to 1901 and was a long-serving club captain from 1891 to 1898.

Albert Edward Lawton was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1900 and 1910 and for Lancashire between 1912 and 1914. He captained the Derbyshire team between 1902 and 1905 and also played for London County and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
Samuel William Anthony Cadman was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire for over quarter of a century between 1900 and 1926. He was an effective all-rounder and scored over 14,000 runs and took over 800 wickets in his first-class career.
Alfred Vardy Pope was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1930 and 1939. He was in the club's championship winning team of 1936 and took 555 wickets overall.
