Olivier Dion (born August 10, 1991) is a Canadian singer who specializes in pop music.

Career

In 2008, Dion, along with Daniel Hamlitsch and Matthew Gaiser, formed the indie rock group Late Young. They released one EP entitled Nativity, of which Dion contributed his vocals alongside the bass guitar. [1]

Dion first came to attention on the reality TV series Star Académie , competing for the title of the best singer. Despite not winning the competition, Dion participated in the Star Académie tour, which had over 130,000 spectators. [2] His song, "Pour exister" on the album, Star Académie 2012 reached double platinum, becoming a hit on Quebec radios. [3]

In the summer of 2013, Dion played Link Larkin in the musical, Hairspray , which was directed by Denise Filiatrault. [4]

On 1 December 2014, Columbia France announced that Dion had signed a licensed contract with the company to develop his European career, and released his single, "Si j'étais son soleil" on European radio the same day. [5]

On the 18th, 19th and 20 February 2015, Dion performed an opening act of Véronic DiCaire at the Olympia music hall in Paris, France. [6] On 11 June 2015 he was selected to interpret the role of d'Artagnan in the musical, Les Trois Mousquetaires at the Palais des Sports in Paris on September 29, 2016, and continue to tour around France until January 2017. [7]

On June 16, 2015, the music video for "Je t'aime c'est tout", the first single from the musical Les Trois Mousquetaires was launched. [8]

Dion competed in the sixth season of the French show Danse avec les stars . [9] He finished in third place in the final with his partner, Candice Pascal.

On December 24, 2017, he joined the Swedish singer Zara Larsson with the hit single "Only You".

<i>Danse avec les stars</i> season 6 Season of television series

The sixth season of the French version of Dancing with the Stars premiered on TF1 on October 24, 2015, a little over a year after the fifth season. This time, 10 celebrities are paired with 10 professional ballroom dancers, less than the 11 of the previous season. Vincent Cerutti will not return as the main host for the season, being replaced by Sandrine Quétier, while Quétier's previous spot will be taken over by Season 4 contestant Laurent Ournac. Meanwhile, Fauve Hautot, one of the program's most popular dancers, was promoted to the position of judge, due to Season 5 judge M. Pokora being too busy with his concert tour.

The Summer Tour 2016 was the eleventh concert tour by Canadian singer Celine Dion. It was organized to support Dion's fifteenth French-language and twenty-sixth studio album, Encore un soir (2016), released on 26 August 2016. It was Dion's first tour since the Sans attendre Tour in 2013. With 28 shows, it was also her biggest Francophone tour since the D'eux Tour in 1995–96. The show began in Antwerp, Belgium on 20 June 2016 and concluded on 31 August 2016 in Trois-Rivières, Québec. The Summer Tour 2016 grossed $56 million.

La vie compliquée de Léa Olivier is a series of young adult epistolary novels that are written by Catherine Girard-Audet and published through Les Malins. Targeted towards teenage girls, the first three book in the series, Rumeurs, and Chantage, were published in 2012 and the next two, Angoisses and Montagnes russes, were published the following year. Subsequent novels were released on a yearly basis. La vie compliquée de Léa Olivier follows the central character of Léa Olivier, a young girl that is forced to move with her family to Greater Montreal, and is narrated through email, chat and SMS exchanges. Girard-Audet initially planned to have the series span nine volumes, but has since stated that while Léa Olivier will have a definite ending, she has no set number of books planned for the series. A spin-off series based on Lea's rival Maude Ménard-Bérubé, Mini-Maude, began publication in 2018.

Chanteurs Masqués is a Canadian French language reality singing competition television series based on the South Korean television series King of Mask Singer. The series premiered on September 19, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. (EST/EDT) on TVA. The show features celebrities singing popular songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities. It employs panelists who guess the celebrities' identities by interpreting clues provided to them throughout the series.
