The Omloop van de Westhoek is a one-day road cycling race held annually near Ichtegem, West Flanders, Belgium since 1955. [1] After the death of cyclist Stive Vermaut in 2004, the official name of the race was changed to Omloop van de Westhoek-Memorial Stive Vermaut. A women's edition was held in 2018 as a UCI category 1.2 event and in 2021 as a 1.1 rated event. [2] The men's race has not been held since 2017, and the women's has not been held since 2021. [3]

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, previously Omloop Het Volk, is a one-day road cycling race in Belgium, held annually in late February. It is the opening event of the Belgian cycling season, as well as the first race of the year in Northwestern Europe, and holds significant prestige because of it. Since 2017, the race is part of the UCI World Tour, cycling's top-tier professional events.
Johan De Muynck is a former Belgian professional road racing cyclist who raced from 1971 to 1983. The highlight of his career was his overall win in the 1978 Giro d'Italia. He was an outstanding climber. Other Grand Tour highlights include a very strong performance in the closely contested 1976 Giro d'Italia where he held the Maglia Rosa until the final time trial finishing on the podium in 2nd just nineteen seconds behind Felice Gimondi. He also rode well in the 1980 and 1981 editions of the Tour de France where he finished 4th and 7th respectively. Up to Remco Evenepoel's victory in the 2022 Vuelta a España, De Muynck was the last Belgian rider to win a Grand Tour.
Janneke Ensing is a Dutch former sportsperson, who competed in speed skating in the 2000s before becoming a cyclist, competing for seven different teams between 2009 and 2021.

Christine Majerus is a Luxembourgish professional road and cyclo-cross cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Team SD Worx–Protime. She won the 2013 Sparkassen Giro Bochum one-day road race and the general classification of the 2019 Holland Ladies Tour.
Jolien D'hoore is a Belgian former track and road cyclist, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2021 for the Topsport Vlaanderen–Ridley, Lotto–Belisol Ladies, Wiggle High5, Mitchelton–Scott and SD Worx teams. D'hoore is a 29-time national track champion as well as a four-time national road champion at all competition levels. She won the bronze medal in the omnium at the 2016 Olympics and during her career was one of the strongest sprinters in the women's peloton. Since retiring as a rider, D'hoore now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Women's Continental Team AG Insurance–Soudal–Quick-Step.
SD Worx is a professional cycling team based in the Netherlands, which competes in elite road bicycle racing events such as the UCI Women's World Tour. They have topped the UCI Women's World Tour team ranking in 2016–2019, 2021 and 2022.

She rode for Parkhotel Valkenburg in the women's team time trial event at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships. She won the gold medal in road cycling at the 2019 European Games, beating her compatriot Marianne Vos in the sprint for the line. In May 2022, Wiebes won all three stages of the RideLondon Classique. In July 2022, she won the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes.

Amber van der Hulst is a Dutch professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team VolkerWessels Women Cyclingteam. In June 2019, at the European Games in Minsk, she won a silver medal in the madison event.
