Ryan Benjamin Tedder is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. As well as being the lead vocalist of the pop rock band OneRepublic, he has an independent career as a songwriter and producer for various artists, including Adele, Backstreet Boys, Beyoncé, Big Time Rush, Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Foster the People, Hailee Steinfeld, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Logic, Maroon 5, MØ, One Direction, Paul McCartney, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, U2, Westlife and Zedd.
Clayton Holmes "Clay" Aiken is an American singer, television personality, actor, politician, and activist. He first gained fame when he came in second place on the second season of the reality singing competition American Idol in 2003. His debut album, Measure of a Man, released in October 2003, went multi-platinum. He released four more albums on the RCA label: Merry Christmas with Love (2004), A Thousand Different Ways (2006), the Christmas EP All is Well (2006), and On My Way Here (2008). Since then he has released two more albums, both with Decca Records: Tried and True (2010) and Steadfast (2012). Aiken has also had eleven tours in support of his albums. In all, he has sold over 5 million albums, and is the fourth-highest-selling American Idol alumnus.
On My Way Here is the fourth studio album released by Clay Aiken on May 6, 2008. This album of both ballads and pop-rock is an eclectic mix of styles and tempos. Aiken wanted to get away from using multiple producers and chose Grammy Award-winning British producer Mark 'Kipper' Eldridge to produce the album. Jaymes Foster was the executive producer. This was his final studio album for RCA.
The song is about how the lessons we learn growing up shape us into the adults we become. This struck a chord with Aiken and the song became the inspiration for the album's theme. [1] Aiken said "I thought if we could find songs along those lines, that deal with my life over the past five years and what I've learned from my experiences, it would be a great concept for an album."

"On My Way Here" is included on the Super Hero album commemorating the 2008 Beijing Olympics presented by MBA Sports. [2] The song was played in the background of several MBC-TV promos for Olympic programming in Korea.
