The Ontario Sportsman Series is a Canadian stock car racing series, that tours across short tracks, both asphalt and dirt, across Ontario. The series is sanctioned by the National Stock Car Association.

The Series was founded in 2007, after NASCAR purchased CASCAR and discontinued the CASCAR Sportsman Series. [1] Originally, Ontario Sportsman Series events featured a twin 50 lap format until 2011, when it was changed to a 100 lap feature format. In 2022, the Ontario Sportsman Series featured ten races across Ontario.

South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately 60 miles (97 km) east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville. It is owned by Mattco, Inc., the Mattioli family trust that owns Pocono Raceway, with general manager Chase Brashears operating the track, replacing Cathy Rice who retired in 2021 after serving in that role for 21 years. NASCAR's three national series have raced at the track, though the Cup Series has not done so since 1971, while the Busch Series last raced here in 2000. After the Busch Series left the schedule, the Craftsman Truck Series competed at SoBo for a few years between 2001 and 2003. The SRX Series visited the track in 2022.

The 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 51st season of professional Stock car racing in the United States, the 28th modern-era Cup series, and the last Cup season of the 1990s and the 20th century. The season began on Sunday, February 7, and ended on Sunday, November 21. Dale Jarrett, representing Robert Yates Racing, was crowned the champion, while the NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship was won by the Ford drivers with 13 wins and 231 points over second-place Chevrolet who had 12 wins and 210 points and third place Pontiac who had 9 wins and 205 points.

The 1995 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 47th season of professional stock car racing in the United States and the 24th modern-era Cup series season. The season began on February 12 in Daytona Beach and concluded on November 12 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Jeff Gordon of Hendrick Motorsports won his first career championship.

The NASCAR Pinty's Series, commonly abbreviated as NPS, is a national NASCAR racing series in Canada, and is a continuation of the old CASCAR Super Series which was founded in 1981.

Delaware Speedway is a half-mile paved race track that is one of the oldest continuously operating tracks in Canada. It is located a few minutes west of London, Ontario northeast of Delaware, Ontario. It hosts stock car racing every Friday night during the summer. The track opened in 1952 as a quarter-mile dirt track that was paved in 1960. In August 1969, the track was expanded to a 1/2 mile paved oval and continues today.

Peter Shepherd III is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver. He is currently racing in the NASCAR Pinty's Series for Dave Jacombs Racing and in the APC Series in the #22 APC/Total Race Car].

Barrie Speedway was a 1/3-mile tri-oval racing track located in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, Canada, north of Barrie. It was a member of CASCAR Super Series between 1989 and 1995, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for the Ontario Provincial and National (Continental) championships between 2007 and 2014, and also hosted a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series 10 races between 2007 and 2014. The track was replaced by Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, south of Barrie.

Scott Steckly is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver and team owner. In his nine years competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, he drove the No. 22 Dodge Charger for his own 22 Racing team. He is the 2008, 2011, 2013, and 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion. He currently fields the No. 18 Chevrolet Camaro full-time for Alex Tagliani, the No. 22 Camaro full-time for Marc-Antoine Camirand, and the No. 24 Camaro full-time for Donald Theetge.

The 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the third racing season since the buy out of the CASCAR Super Series.

His first season with ARCA was in 2009, finishing 7th in the championship standings and winning the ARCA RE/MAX Series Most Popular Driver Award. He was also the 2008 USAC Silver Crown Series Rookie of the Year.

Hagerstown Speedway is a 0.5-mile-long (0.80 km) red clay oval auto-racing track, 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Hagerstown, Maryland, situated on US Route 40. It hosts weekly local racing of Late Model Sportsman, Pure Stock, and Hobby Stock divisions, and throughout the season hosts regional and national touring series such as the Lucas Oil Late Model Series, International Motor Contest Association, and FASTRAK. Along with the car-racing schedule during the year, Monster Jam has used the track for events for several decades, along with various concerts and special events. The speedway has also hosted World of Outlaws, ARCA, and NASCAR races in the past.
