La Saga, Negocio de Familia was a popular Colombian soap opera aired in 2004 by Caracol TV and then after 2006 aired on GenTV in South Florida. The show follows the history of the Manrique family, which was prominent in the underworld of Bogotá, Colombia. This telenovela is characterized by an unconventional plot: unlike many others, it is not a love story, but several stories of events that occur through five generations of the same family. Moreover, there is no humor and the plot is marked by death, suffering and crime. It received the "Best Telenovela" award at the Colombian Television Awards in 2005.

La abadía del crimen is a video game written by Paco Menéndez with graphics made by Juan Delcán and published in 1987 by Opera Soft. It was conceived as a version of Umberto Eco's 1980 book The Name of the Rose. Paco Menéndez and Opera Soft were unable to secure the rights for the name, so the game was released as La abadía del crimen. "The Abbey of the Crime" was the working title of the novel The Name of the Rose.

The show is produced by Teleset and RCN Televisión and it stars Angélica Blandón, Johanna Bahamón, Farina Paucar Franco as the Milagro's sisters, along with Andrés Sandoval, Sandra Reyes, Juan Diego Sánchez, and Julio Sánchez Cóccaro.

The country's audience of game players was 16.8 million that year; demographically, it was 59% male and 41% female. Reportedly 80% of people aged 6-to-10 played video games, while 24% of those in the 45–64 age range did so.
