The music was written between 2003 and 2007 by Taipan and lyrics by Dirge Rep between 2003 and 2007.[ citation needed ] [3]

It was recorded and produced at Misantrof Studios by Vrangsinn and Orcustus in 2007. Vocals were recorded at Slimecave Studios by Radek and Taipan in 2007 and 2008. The album was mixed at Conclave Studios by Bjørnar E. Nilsen and Taipan in 2008. Graphic art and layout are by Dirge Rep.[ citation needed ]

They would also enlist a full-time keyboardist in Herbrand Larsen, bringing the band personnel from four to five.

Craft is a Swedish black metal band, originally formed under the name "Nocta" in 1994. As Nocta they recorded an unreleased demo in 1997 and subsequently changed their name to "Craft". While musically inspired by early black metal acts such as Burzum and Darkthrone, as well as heavy metal bands such as Black Sabbath and Celtic Frost, their lyrics focus on misanthropy, destruction, hate, Anti-Cosmic Satanism and death resembling the older lyrics of melodic black/death metal band Dissection. Twilight is an American black metal supergroup formed in 2005 and originally commissioned by the Swedish underground label Total Holocaust Records. Members of the band are all a part of well known projects within the black metal genre or otherwise including Xasthur, Leviathan, Krieg, Isis, Nachtmystium and Sonic Youth.

Recorded in 1994, Martyrium was not immediately released, though bootleg copies of the album were printed in 1997 by Morphine Records. It then gained a cult following among a small audience until it was officially released in the year 2000 by Endtime Productions.

Demo 2002 was the first release by the Norwegian black metal band Orcustus, founded by Taipan and with Infernus and Tormentor of Gorgoroth and Dirge Rep of Enslaved and Gehenna. It was limited to 1,000 copies on CD. This demo led to the band being signed to the US record label Southern Lord Records.

Misantrof ANTIRecords is a non-profit label founded by Daniel Vrangsinn of Carpathian Forest in January 2007. Originally it was started as a web site to host Hatepulse music, but during the summer of 2007 Eirik Skrangle and A Waste of Talent was added to the roster. Misantrof also started building an archive which contains metal albums and demos which are considered important. Many of the demos and albums were collected by Dirge Rep
