The Order of Military Merit (Wisam al-Istahaqaq al-Askari) is an order of the Kingdom of Jordan.

It was instituted in 1976 by King Hussein bin Talal.
The Order of Military Merit is awarded for distinguished services by members of the Jordanian armed forces and foreign military officials. Civilians may also receive the order in reward for exceptional services in the defence of the Kingdom.
The Order of Military Merit is awarded in five classes:
Grand Cordon: awarded to general officers and above.
Grand Officer: awarded to full colonels and above.
Commander: awarded to field officers and above.
Officer: awarded to officers below field rank.
Knight: awarded to other ranks.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) is, in principle, the highest-ranking and senior most uniformed military officer, typically at four-star rank, in the Pakistan Armed Forces who serves as a principal staff officer (PSO) and a chief military adviser to the civilian government led by elected prime minister of Pakistan and the National Security Council. The role of advisement is also extended to the elected members in the bicameral parliament and the ministry of Defence. The chairman leads the meetings and coordinates the combined efforts of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC), comprising the chairman, the chief of the Army Staff and chief of the Air Staff and the chief of the Naval Staff, commandant of marines, director general Coast Guards and Strategic Plans Division, and commanders of the service branches in the Civil Armed Forces and the National Guard.
Pakistan Military Academy, also referred to by its acronym (PMA), is an officers training centre located near Kakul village in the city and district of Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Established in October 1947, it is the sole service academy in Pakistan tasked with training cadets to serve as army officers. For educational training, the institution is accredited by the National University of Sciences & Technology.

The army chief also serves as a senior member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC). A new Chief of Army Staff is not always the most senior of the eligible generals; indeed, as of 2016, the new COAS has been the most senior candidate only four of fourteen times. Army general is a powerful rank in the country designed to command security affairs with military leadership privileges.
