Orlaith Carmody is an Irish businesswoman, author, News reporter [1] and co-founder of Gavin Duffy and Associates (formerly Media Training), [2] along with her husband and business partner, Dragons' Den investor Gavin Duffy. [3]

Career

Carmody was previously a newscaster and reporter at LMFM and Century Radio. [4] [5] As a Director of Aerga Productions, [6] she won a Screen Training Ireland bursary to attend the Entertainment Master Class international media leadership programme. [7] [8] She spoke at TEDxTallaght in 2013, [9] TEDxDCU in 2015 [10] [11] and at the SME Assembly 2014 in Naples, Italy. [12]

Carmody was a board member of RTÉ from 2010 until 2015, [13] / [14] [15] HRM Recruit, [16] and Ablevision Ireland, [17] and is a founder member and president 2014–15 of the Irish chapter of the International Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO). [2] She is Chairperson of Home and Community Care Ireland (HCCI), a fellow of the Irish Institute of Training and Development and a member of the Institute of Directors. [18]

Dublin City University is a university based on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. Created as the National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin in 1975, it enrolled its first students in 1980, and was elevated to university status in September 1989 by statute.

Ahascragh is a village in east Galway, Ireland. It is located 11 km (7 mi) (7 mi) north-west of Ballinasloe on the Ahascragh/Bunowen River, a tributary of the River Suck. The R358 regional road passes through the village.

The Ashbourne Cup is the highest division in inter-collegiate camogie. The competition features many of the current stars of the game and is sometimes known as the 'Olympics of Camogie' because of the disproportionate number of All Star and All-Ireland elite level players who participate each year Since 1972 it has been administered by the Higher Education committee of the Camogie Association.

Gavin Duffy Kildare, Ireland is an Irish entrepreneur and businessman who was a former part owner of the HRM Group of Companies, one of Ireland's largest recruitment companies. Duffy is a regular conference speaker at business events in Ireland. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2018 presidential election.

The Mayo county ladies' football team represents Mayo in amateur ladies' Gaelic football. The team competes in inter-county competitions such as the All-Ireland TG4 Senior Ladies Championship and the Lidl Ladies National Football League as a member of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.

The HEC O'Connor Cup, also referred to as the Michael O'Connor Cup, is the senior Ladies' Gaelic football intervarsity cup competition. It features teams representing universities and institutes of technology from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It is organised by the Higher Education Colleges committee of the Ladies' Gaelic Football Association. Mary Immaculate College won the inaugural competition in 1987. University of Limerick is the competitions most successful team. Since 2018 the O'Connor Cup has been sponsored by Gourmet Food Parlour. It was previously sponsored by the Irish Examiner. During the 2010s the O'Connor Cup final has been broadcast live by TG4 and/or YouTube.
