Ormi Patras is a Greek women's club based in Patras. It was founded in 2003 through the fusion of Thriamvos Patras, Poseidonas Patras and Foinikas Patras. It is a major protagonist in the Greek women's handball cup and championship. Ormi Patras has won 6 Greek championships and 4 Greek cups. In 2015, Ormi Patras withdrew from the championship due to financial problems. [1] [2]

The Greek women's handball cup is an annual competition, the most important in Greek women's handball together with the Greek championship. The first winner was GE Veria in 1987. Anagennisi Artas holds the record of cups won with nine consecutive titles between 1998 and 2006. Ormi Patras was the team that put an end to that domination by winning the title on May 13, 2007.

Elena Nikoli is a Greek handball player. She has won the Greek championship six times, as well as the Greek cup (1998–2003). She took the third place at the Balkan Games in 2004 and she also participated at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. She was first called at the Greece women's national handball team in 1998 at the age of 16 years. She played at the following teams: Amazones Artas, Anagennisi Artas and Ormi Patras.

Dimitris Tofalos Arena is an indoor sports arena that is located in Proastio, Patras, Greece. The arena is named after the great Greek wrestling champion of the early 20th century, and gold medalist at the 1906 Intercalated Games, Dimitrios Tofalos. It is also known by its original official name, which is PEAK, which stands for Pampeloponnisiako Ethniko Athlitiko Kentro Patron, which means Pampeloponnisiako National Sports Center Patras.

Esperides was founded in 1995, and at the end of 2012, changed its name and its emblem, and restarted as GS Ikaros kallitheas. This was because since Esperides faced financial problems and wasn't able to continue in the Greek Women's League championship. Esperides has won two Greek Women's League championships and four Greek Women's Cups. In 2017-18 season Ikaros Kallitheas renamed again Esperides Kallitheas.
